What men and women like to chat about

Speedysid
By Speedysid

Sometimes, when a guy and gal come together, there comes a moment of awkwardness.. on what to speak and chat about...

The guy may think of the World Cup, Sports, and some guy stuff.. but he may not talk about these things with women.

So what is it that each gender wishes to talk about when they meet the other?

even the price of rice can be a topic if you know how to discuss about it and you know how to play with your words.

Many guys DO talk to girls, up front and personal, you know...;)

Is this a problem you are facing? Or you're just wondering?

I would enjoy a conversation with a guy, when we talk about music, movies, things we like to do, funny, awkward moments and once I am there I never shut up.

I am already very talkative, so the guy with me will be lucky not to hurt his head thinking what to talk about. xD

L.O.L at Cabbage, very true indeed! xD hehe!

Women want you to be honest that’s all.

Does that mean we can compliment them on their bits ?

If a man was to trying to impress a woman by saying,

"I just won the millionaire lottery at Lulu"! He is stuffed.

Ditto to this:

If you are in a lift... pass gas... and say "Sorry...I ate a lot of beans today"…

I suspect Jack you ‘struggle with what women really want and like:-)

Women want you to be honest that’s all. We get the footy/rugby/cricket etc.

If there is an awkward moment- it is because both of you have hit a low spot and if both of you just chat about sport or handbags – you are not meant to be

initially, the guy needs to subtly find out her interests and hobbies and talk about those..

when stuck, you can either knock on the weather or say..'you know what..' and continue on how some things are common to both or just admire her bracelet or dress but not something too personal.

hey, but don't overdo it...she might think you are hitting on her.

Awkward pause. Don't know what to say .. Use any of the following :

The nights are fair drawing in , eh!

It's been really hot today!

Did you know that red label tea is at a discount at LuLu ?

Does Preperation h actually work ?

You can start by saying... "I just won the millionaire lottery at Lulu"!

there is no solution to it. If a guy talks about things that men like then its a major turn-off for girls and if the guy talks about the things that women are usually interested in then what comes in a lady's mind is "Is he really a guy!"

my first post in QL forums!!

Hello everyone! :)

P.S " I think it will be better to read my post from bottom to top"

I don't mean chatting on a date..

Just generally... At any place- in office, when you meet at a park by chance, etc

And sometimes, you want to carry on a conversation and can't find a common thread. I've always seen that talking about the weather is the best icebreaker.. though it is cliched, I know.

Well cynic, I don't know...it might be a good idea not to be overly cynical or critical at a first date.

Haha. Right you are, nomerci!

It's always a safe route to find something that you both can make fun of. Like for instance, the horrible shirt the guy on the next table is wearing. It lightens the mood and at the same time you get to size up your date's wit and sense of humor.

speedy, if a guy talks about fashion / shopping during a date, I would be worried.

It depends on the person.Every man loves to make girls laugh so comedy comes in,the rest of the talk can decided later!

if the girl likes you she would not sh*t up. So for the next date, change your perfume or hair style... just do something

I've noticed, that if a guy talks about something even distantly related to fashion, etc, womens' eyes light up.. and they want to talk about these things..

The trouble is, when guys can't relate to some of these topics...

And its not that we wanna seem like pansies or so.. its just that even we really wanna have a decent conversation where there's a healthy exchange of views and ideas..

What say?

By blue_rose• 19 Mar 2011 12:24

one of them should talk..usually boys talk..

Every time there is a pause, just say "so" or "so what else" and she will go off again.
