I have a lot of respect for PETA... But isn't this taking things too far ?

PETA has written to the Committee on Bible Translation to suggest that its next translation also remove speciesist language by referring to animals as "he or she" instead of "it."

"Updating the Bible's language regarding animals would not only reflect modern writing trends but also reinforce the idea that animals are living beings valued by God, not inanimate objects," says PETA Vice President Bruce Friedrich.

Would you agree with them ??

There might be a problem addressing animals by he or she. It's really difficult to see first their genital organ to make sure what their gender is. I prefer to use " it ".

The bible has been changed and rewritten dozens of times to reflect the thinking of the day, so whats different about this time.

Perhaps the next revision will take out all the god sanctioned murdering and racism.

Only if the closest thing to the original text is gendered.

the logic should extend to other living things as well if they consider them as god's creation..birds, fish or even insects..
