Type of accommodation/where to live in Doha?

Hi, I'm new here.

I will be moving to Doha in a few months. I'm a UK citizen and plan to be there for quite a few years.

I'd like to rent a fully-furnished 2 bed apartment, with parking, but don't know where the best place is to live. I have up to QR14,000 per month to spend, although I don't want to spend it all if I can help it.

I will be working initially in Lusail, then moving to a new building in the centre of Doha.

Do Brits/Europeans stick together in the same areas?

Is an apartment best, or villa?

Suggestions welcomed.

many thanks

Hi,

My names Craig, I'm the MD of Mirage properties here in Qatar. We've been established here for 7 years now and I like to think we have developed a good reputation amongst ex pats moving here.

With a budget of QR14,000 you have a good choice of apts and locations to choose from. If you're working in Lusail I would suggest the West Bay area or the Business District, close to the Corniche.

You'll find decent fully furnished 2 bed apts starting at around QR8,500 a month. Tere are cheaper apts but location, quality and age of property will become factors. If your work location will change you might want to consider short term serviced accommodation initially, this is priced around QR12-13,000 per month but is all inclusive. This will give you time to get to know Doha as the traffic here means you need to seriously consider where you live in relation to where you work.

Take a look on our website, mirageproperty.com or drop me a line with your email address and i'll forward on some links to suitable properties.

I hope that helps.

Kind regards

Craig at Mirage
