Package
There is a complete divergence of opinion on this site regarding salaries with many saying "too little" or "this is an ego boost" etc etc.
I just want an honest opinion on a QS all in package of 29k QAR with 10 - 15% annual bonus on basic salary of 18k. Payrises are also incremental year on year
To me this seems a good offer for someone with 7 years experience and disposable income would be high (+200% increase) and savings made and good quality of life with a nice 1 to 2 bedroom flat. A qs would never receive such a package in the UK only commercial managers receive such an amount.
Any constructive feedback would be appreciated.
If you think it is a good offer, will it deter you if we tell you it's not?
You have already done the math, so why do you wanna confuse yourself with different opinions? Like what others have said, what may seem good to you, may seem abysmal to one and excellent to the other ;-)
Yes the construction market in Qatar is better than it's neighbouring Bahrain and the UAE.
Well what is a good offer.
The average qs salary ranges all in for the Dubai Bahrain and Qatar last year was 23k min and 30k max. So all in all a decent offer yes?
Also would the construction market seem secure for now in qatar with the doha land developments and wc 2022? Or should I look for an opportunity in oil and gas?
"To me this seems a good offer." So, what are you asking for? For me it is not a good offer, and for xy it is an excellent offer. What exactly is your question?
generally people ask whether it is enough or not to satisfy their egoes. Thats all.
Agree totally with brit there. It all depends on where you are now. Sitting under a bus shelter or vacationing in Bali. Big, Small, Good, High etc are relative terms which only you can relate with your present status and decide. If what is on offer is better and worth relocation as compared to your present income take it else ignore and move on.
good answer brit!
You will always get divergent opinions, because QL comprises diverse peoples from varying backgrounds and requirements.
This is why |i always am bemused when people ask about salaries and packages.
What suits me , may not suit you. I don't know your current situation and you don't know mine. i don't know your lifestyle and spending habits.
For example, a few years ago, I was in saudi arabia earning very good money. Then i lost my job and was unempolyed for nearly a year. I then took a role for nearly 50% less salary , because I needed to have a job and pay the bills.
My answer is that if YOU are happy with the package offered, then take it. don't worry about what others are earning.
Good luck!
"honest" opinion? Nah, here only liars...
