What would be the optimal speed you should drive a car so you achieve efficient use of petrol and least wear & tear to the engines at the same time? Thanks for your comments.I know petrol is cheap here! You don't have to remind me. I am talking generally.
if you are driving a manual then change gears at 3000-3500 rpm for optimal petrol consumption
if you drive an automatic vehicle then just firmly press the accelerator pedal and the car will auto shift on optimal rpm..avoid kick-down
for optimal performance:
if you are driving a manual then change gears just next to the red line..you can install a shift indicator which will alert you when you are reaching the red line so you can do the perfect shift and get maximum out of every gear (evil smile)..
if you drive an automatic then kick-down to get the maximum out of every gear..use sports mode/triptronic/steptronic/etc if available to get close to manual performance
Speed doesnt really have anything to do with it, you can travel at 60kmph in 1st and you are going to break the gearbox and waste fuel, so basically you want to drive as smooth as possible and change gears at a decent rev rate. cant make it any easier.

Petrolheads suggest to travel around 90kph.

Mack
56mph - what ever that converts to in kph, however you should also accelerate smoothly and change gears without over revving.
