OK I will not interfere in the "wrapping around posts" debate, though I'm not happy with the elevated tone that's going on here. Anyways ...
There is a nice mobile software called "cameraware" which works on windows mobiles. I saw a similar concept on Blackberrys and iPhones as well. It's basically not a radar detector. It's a GPS software that memorizes and saves all speed camera locations. It's very effective for those who keep forgetting where the cameras are. But I think here in Doha you might find yourself having to "define" most of the camera locations.
It works based on a very simple concept: while you approach a camera location that it remembers, the GPS determines your location and speed. If the speed is higher than the saved limit it beeps.
Honestly you shouldn't even need that in Doha. All cameras are painted with bright yellow-red stripes and are placed in VERY visible locations! All you need to do is keep an eye on the road and watch what your fellow drivers are doing (you'll notice everyone dropping speed at certain points).
@ baldrick2dogs : i think you will be the first one to wrap around a lamp post, rather its required for you. I was just asking for a suggestion, people like you can never speak good.
@ everyone else thanks a lot for the replies i was just asking about it was not in a mood to do it, once again thank to all for the replies.
