Can we move and get a decent job in Qatar?

Hi there, I'm new to the forum and wondered if anyone can advise. My mom and I, both Turkish, would like to know whether it would be easy or possible at all for us to find a job in Qatar. We both speak fluent English and Turkish, she has her own property management company where we live and I work as an estate agent and wondered whether there are companies who hire foreigners on a contract to work in Qatar? If so, any recommendations? how much should we expect to earn (roughly) and do they generally provide accommodation? Sorry, I'm a bit cluess, heard that a friend of a friend worked there and earned quite well with great conditions, however, we are unable to get hold of her so I'm hoping someone here may be able to advice. Thank you in advance.

There are a lot of people looking for jobs here so it is best to do your research as you are now and not come here job hunting.

Qatar likes people with experience so it is usually better to try in the field where you have your qualifications/experience.

"Living in the sun",I suggest you to meet people personally for getting information regarding a job in Qatar.Because, finding online will give u nothing.I have been in Qatar for almost one and a half month searching for jobs online. No one replies back, even after submitting your resumes.Frankly,it's just a waste of time.So better get some phone numbers and call people. That ought to help you,i am sure.

One of my contractors is a Turkish company which takes up construction projects in the Oil and Gas sector. If you google Fernas Constructions and contact them, they may prefer Turkish speaking persons in their Admin Dept.

May give it a try.

Thank you everyone, I really appreciate it. I have been sitting in front of the computer and just searching and searching for hours so my eyes are all sore now :(

Nomerci, to be completely honest I do not know much about Qatar and so I did not know it was an expensive place to live. I currently live in North Cyprus and I really, really, REALLY need a change and this person said Qatar has many opportunities and that we should give it a try. I will keep researching and hopefully I will find something so that I can come and try it for myself.

I have just signed up to a website called CLARENDONPARKER - it says it's a recruiment agency and also applied to one of the agents mentioned above so fingers crossed!

Living in the sun, i don't think you should look for places where they like to hire turkish nationals in particular, but somewhere where what you have to offer is actually needed.

Have a look at the websites other posters have posted...but i do not think there is a big chance for you in real estate over here....then again, it may depend on what kind of salary and benefits you are happy with.

Be aware though that Qatar is a rather expensive place to live in.

Hi Nomerci thank you for the reply. We have not lived in Turkey for at least 15 years now and are not happy in our current location. I have 5 years experience in Real Estate so would be happy to work in the same field, however, we are both open to other job opportunities. We'd just like to try something new for a year or two, and if we do actually enjoy living there, we could make it permenant.

I have been all over the internet trying to find some vacancies and info where they are happy to hire Turkish citizens but so far not been able to find much.

If anyone can name any recruiment companies we can contact then that would be wonderful.

Well, generally, yes you can. But you will have to find a job BEFORE you come to Qatar.

Once you have a job, your company will provide a work permit and then the Residence permit.

The conditions of your job obviously depend on the employer. Some provide housing, medicare, yearly flight home etc.

But,IMHO it is the wrong approach to come here looking for a job...find one on line before you get here .

Are you looking for a job in real estate? I don't think it is a good idea to leave your company in Turkey if it goes well to come to Qatar.
