Leaving Doha for Good

Good afternoon all,

I have resigned from Qatar Airways and will be heading back to the UK, due to a family tragedy. I have enjoyed my time at QA, but must complain about how long the process is to leave this country. They make you jump through hoops, and have no compassion towards you.

I hope that when a family tragedy happens to any body else, that they treat with the compassion that you need, and not the negativity i have recieved here.

Good bye and good luck to all....

It happens all the time out here. There is this case of a colleague who had been working at a multi national establishment out here for over eight years and one fine day they suddenly removed just him citing recession and lack of business and other petty excuses and after a few months after this guy was removed and he left the place for good this company goes about putting ads in the newspaper for new recruits and started recruting persons from the managers native place.

Yes jjj75, they just want to remind us that they can be nasty and we are helpless if they want to implement the proceudres!

No, in this instance they made it a point of honour to be as deliberately awkward as possible, knowing that someone had to go home for an emergency family situation, they took great delight.

Other half had the same problem at previous employer, he needed to go home due to urgent family situation. sponsor refused to give multi exit visa and when challened as to why not they would say, don't you trust us to issue the visa quickly. Of course when they were put to the test it took them 4 days and my husband was much delayed in getting back home but they just could not care less -we are all slaves to them

Compassion? Something which is very rare in this part.

Agree on that no compassion part... and I can feel for you as I have been through these times alongside with one of my friends who left last week for good.

Wish you very best in your life ahead.

The draconian procudures that they have here do not cater for compassion. Sorry for your ordeal it could happen to anyone of us.
