Looks like a set up now by the americans

the power broker in the power suit sure didn't look it monday. unshaven, tired and dishevelled in court, listening to the accusations against him.

he has no human contact other than a person dropping food and an hour outside by himself in a yard.

police say he sexually assaulted a hotel maid twice in his suite at the sofitel in times square . according to the complaint he shut the door, attempted to pull down her pantyhose and engaged in oral sexual conduct by forcible compulsion but his defense lawyer hinted at another theory -- that it was consensual.

the risk would be that he'd leave, go to france and never come back and the french government would not be helpful to the united states .

Police say they gatherered a good deal of DNA at the hotel room . now they are waiting to see if it matches strauss-kahn 's dna. as for the accuser, a 32-year-old african immigrant who lives in the bronx. we spoke with her brother. off camera he said she's in tears, distraught. she has a 9-year-old daughter and works and does everything for her.

The weekend arrest of Dominique Strauss-Kahn sent shockwaves through the financial world and upended French presidential politics, but it also quickly gave rise to theories about whether the International Monetary Fund chief had been set up by rivals.

The financial titan — who carries a reputation for womanizing — became an immediate talking point: For some, the story represented a sad fall from grace; others spoke of humiliation for France; but, for another group, it smacked of a set-up.

The IMF chief went on to admit that he could see himself being set up because of his affinity for women. According to a translation done by British newspaper The Guardian, Strauss-Kahn goes on to admit that he could see himself becoming the victim of a honey trap: "a woman raped in a car park and who's been promised 500,000 or a million euros to invent such a story... ."

“I am convinced it is an international conspiracy,” Michelle Sabban, senior councilor for the greater Paris region, told The Telegraph.

"It's the IMF they wanted to decapitate," she said. "It's not like him. Everyone knows that his weakness is seduction, women.

"It is not unthinkable that certain judicial officials, the prosecutor in particular or the judge, is driven by a desire to take down a Frenchman, a Frenchman who is moreover well known."

Strauss-Kahn and his supporters aren't the only ones who think he could have been set up for a fall. According to The Telegraph, some of Strauss-Kahn's rivals even found the news tough to believe.

How many rapists are put on a suicide watch?? Is he an international terrorist who needs to disclose the plans of some bomb attacks?

Talking of conspiracy theories...

Strauss-kahn is accused and held in USA, whilst Carla Bruni announces her pregnancy.

The conspiracy is this important man is being brought down by an insignificant worker. She lies for the money someone is paying or out of jealousy for the rich people she cleans up after. What is she doing in his room with him naked in it anyway. Maids should not be in rooms when guests are there.

dodgy begat dodgey begat baazigar begat rizzo. All spanked, defeated and deleted save one. Be patient, the mods will catch him sooner or later for his tasteless violations and abuses. Troll . . . yes of the worst kind.

Super troll is more like it. But he's just a bored kid home from school, so what do you expect? It's the problem of not having enough after-school activities for teenagers in Qatar.

What does everything have to be a conspiracy? May he did what he is being accused of. If there has to be a conspiracy, I am going with the British Labour Party is upset about Brown being rejected, so they used their trade union ties with the hotel staff to stitch this guy up.

ROFL Frenchieman! Yes, he must of have thought he was somewhere else. No conspiracy here.

VG5 he definitely a troll. Just wait and he will create a fake account to blast with obscenities and rude PMs. It's a daily occurrence.

Maybe the right-wing French cut a deal with their American pals to keep this guy out the presidential race. If he did this in France, he might be considered a hero by some--hey Frenchieman ;-)

BTW Ignore the rizo troll. I read how he tried to pass himself off as someone who understood physics (but didn't know what the observer effect was) and now he doesn't get sarcasm. Maybe he contribute to this thread with more pointless questions. LOL!

"Maybe he forgot he was in the US and thought that the maids were mere sponsored-workers that had no choice but to do their owner's (sponsor's) bidding. As a resident of GCC country, I can easily understand his mistake. Poor guy. I just hope there is a local charity that can help him out with the cost of his defense, any fine that might occur, or a cash payment to the victim's family so that he will not be punished at all.

The conspiracy is that in places like the US, even the poorest labourers have some rights--very confusing sometimes for a certain class of foreign visitors"

Frenchie - do you actually read what you write beacuse this is another pearl for your record

Don't the americans realize that this IMF guy has more important work at hand then chasing this maids in New York of all places. Just imagine countries like Greece and Portugal waiting for this guy to bail them out of their financial troubles and this New York beefcakes are more bothered about something that might not have actually happened. Was just wondering if the maids in New York are more special then the ones out here in the Gulf or in France

The suspicion of a frame-up becomes stronger on knowing that he was not granted bail even for 1mn euro.

The judge could have easily granted him a bail after implanting a transmitter on him as it was done with Assange..

this whole conspiracy thing is downright stupid. so you think americans care about french and their politics? they couldn't care less. and if it is true as what some people suggested that this is payback on the whole polanski thing then honey, polanski is not exactly this big fish that they would break their arms or lost sleep over. personally, i'll listen to the african immigrant maid who came out shaken and shouting that someone was harassing her. good luck to dsk to find his way out on this one. and hey, what about the tristane banon allegations? wow. i say good luck to him.

Naa, it was the Zionists. Oh wait, they are running America, so yup, it was the Americans after all.

Well, it is always the Americans, I was so hoping for a change of scenery, ah well!

Maybe the maid was Tsipi Livni in disguise? I hear the Israelis are really good at disguise...

Anyone know about Charles Whitman?

Charles Joseph Whitman (June 24, 1941 – August 1, 1966) was a student at the University of Texas at Austin and a former Marine who killed 16 people and wounded 32 others during a shooting rampage on and around the university's campus on August 1, 1966.

The tower massacre happened shortly after Whitman murdered his wife and mother at their homes. He was shot and killed by Austin Police Officers.

Charles Whitman's autopsy revealed a glioblastoma tumor that, according to the report, "conceivably could have contributed to his inability to control his emotions and actions"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Whitman

I'm calling Brain Tumor for Strauss-Kahn's actions.

Of course it goes without saying that the CIA planted the tumor in his head, in cahoots with the French Secret Service, in some kind of Manchurian Candidate operation done whilst Strauss-Kahn was in a hypnotised state.

Makes perfect sense.
