cted patients were outdoor workers, he suggested to employers to revise working hours to protect the workers.
“Too much sunlight is not good for the skin as it could lead to sunburn, so companies, especially in the construction sector, should consider rescheduling their work time for the comfort of their employees, apart from providing them with protective clothing and necessary equipment,” he advised.
Dr Abdulnoor has also asked companies to provide fluids, especially water and salt solution to help workers refresh and replenish lost body fluids while at work.
The consultant also mentioned that road traffic trauma and fall from heights were leading emergency cases seen on the rise. “Cases of trauma that we are seeing here on a daily basis calls for concern as most of them were easily preventable,” he said without providing any figures.
However, Dr Abdulnoor added that about 50% of emergency cases were not life-threatening such as simple injuries, respiratory infection, cardiac and gastro-intestinal problems

Brit, They do use the A/C in our bus, to which extent though I am not sure at the time.

Some of them don't use A/Cs because they feel that it puts extra load on the engine ....

Mom me, i actually have to investigate...there is apossibility that the drives turn the A/c down...as many seem to think A/C is bad and makes you sick...and therfore prefer to stew in their own juices....

Agree Nomerci. Probably lack of maintenance. School drivers work overtime making many trips for children and teachers.

often those A/c's on the school buses are not strong enough to handle the heat...my child is incredibly hot when he comes home...:(

School buses have to have A/c's - compulsory. The private bus owners which are engaged by some construction firms instruct the drivers to switch it off when carrying the workers.

its sad and distressing to see these buses.. There should be a law ensuring that all these buses including school buses should have A/Cs..

Sitting in the school bus is like sitting in hot oven. I am not sure how the construction workers brave the sun. I am told some of the private buses which take them to site don't have A/C's. Real torture.

Most managers' thermometers don't go above 30 degrees, so there's never a heat problem.
