Keeping the streets clean and free from rubbish and litter. Make it a habit and you will realise it is just too easy to follow. Your actions are a reflection of your family and reflection of your society and finally, a reflection of your very own country.
Exactly.I've seen that among many parents actually. And kids would often imitate grown ups who in turn really believe taking care of the environment and getting rid of our litter is somebody else's job. And then we lament when hit by disasters!
It all comes down to parents instilling the values. I remember a few months ago walking down the Corniche and two little girls pulling flowers from the beds and bringing them to their parents - who laughingly accepted them and told them to get more. :O(
Yes we can...and should. My husband and I have in fact taught our daughter that littering in many ways is a sin and not to be taken lightly. It's a sin against the environment, it's breaking laws, it's causing harm to others, and actually in the case of Muslims an action that directly affects your faith cos in Islam removing something harmful to others is a part of our faith so imagine then being the perpetrator of spreading harm?Audubillah! Keep it clean, people!
Alter Dusty I think that is a ridiculous statement: it implies that we should go and commit a crime just to keep the police employed? Or deliberately get ill so as to keep doctors busy?
it would be wonderful, and I would be less likely to loose my breakfast, if certain individuals would stop opening their car doors whilst waiting at traffic lights and spitting onto the floor. Having to watch this day in and day out disgusts me although I do understand that this may may be a cultural thing and you may do this freely where you live, but PLEASE we all have to live together here and it is vile.
