BEWARE women looking for love online in Qatar

uk_qtr
By uk_qtr

To all women living in qatar who have resorted to looking for who a suitable parnter/husband online, beware of men on matrimonial websites posing as rich qatari's targeting in particular women of European backgrounds to CON. Numerous unsuspecting women promised of marriage by these men have been conned out of large sums of money with little evidence to go by. These men are cunning and will use any tactic to take advantage of trusting women in any way, monetary or otherwise. If you think you have been conned/taken advantage of, chances are if the con artists are actually qatari you have little hope of bringing them to justice. In order for any case to be filed against these perpetrators, ensure ID cards are seen and any other details such as number plates are also taken down in the period of getting to know them. Pass this message on to as many people you know who are using matrimonial web sites as means of finding potential partners.

Respect to all but love is still exists, some waits for long, some short, some finds it easily and some loose it so simply.

i have experienced the same from ladies some of whom asked for a short term loan in a friendly cash transaction with no proof..one lady asked me to send her money in uk using western union..she said she was trying to open a boutique but the amount was just QR2000 which made me suspicious..long story short i told her that my brain rules my heart..lol :)

You would have to be two sandwiches short of a decent picnic to look on line in Qatar for 'love'.

Dear Mr Brit-Expat

Thank you for your kind mail. Unfortunately even though you seem to share similar likes of mine - animals and biltong... the rest of your profile doesn't suit my requirements.

I like tall, dark (the darker the better), ruggedly handsome men with little money and will be happy to live in a tent, sleep on the floor and bath in the abundent sand of the desert. He must be prepared to stand behind me while I fight many battles and share me with my best lady friend;-p

I am sure you will find your match is out there. Good Luck with your search:-)

Regards

Xena Warrior Princess (Earth Mother)

Dear Ms. Xena

I saw your profile and was immediately smitten. I am not too tall, not too dark, not too handsome and am relatively wealthy with my own above average sized home. I don't know about ou, but I love animals and believe wholeheartedly in caring for them and working for their well being. I wonder if you'd like to meet and share some Biltong with me. (I don't know where you are from, but Biltong is a favourite dish of mine).

Please revert.

Xena, your spot on dear..

The method might be different but the process still involves getting to know someone before saying the words "I do"

By Xena• 28 Jun 2011 14:26

is probably as safe as meeting someone, lets say, in a bar...

Personally, meeting guys in bars is a little creepy... It doesn't matter though where you meet, you still have to go through the same process to get to know them.

That is the ideal situation and yes Pilgram that would be wonderful to meet a guy at a party but these days it is not easy and plus the interent is not such a bad place to meet someone.. As I mentioned, it does have a success rate and I know quite a few women and one man who met their life partners on shaadi.com. Go check it out, it is not such a bad place but beware.. There are crooks otu there as well.

With the breakdown of the extended families and globalization, many are now turning to such sites to find their life partners. It is not ideal, but they offer a service - and have a good success rate..

I know many women personally who have met their better halves on shaadi.com So it is not that all men are bad or liars but i would say a good percentage of them are.. You should be really lucky to find a genuine person online.

Some women in Doha don't need an expert con artist to pull a fast one on them, any poorly concealed bluff will do.

My friend has been a victim also. They do tell tragic stories of their lives and how miserable their life is, and they neeeded someone to etc etc... We warned her but it was too late. They are really good and you will fall for them just how my friend fell for it.

And I have come across quite a few of these online but fortunately they were not in Qatar. They were mostly settled or at least they claimed to be settled in US, UK or Canada and they make promises of coming to see you and then they ask you for money for air fare.. Hahaa.. They actually believe that I would naive enough to send them money. Since I am expert in these kind of things, there are a lot of tell tale signs which one should be aware of..

1. These con artists seem far too much into you right from day one. They claim they have never met anyone like you and you were the one they have been waiting for all their lives.

2. They will send you very attractive pictures of themselves but when you ask them to show themselves on webcam, they would always back out saying the camera does not work or some kind of lame excuse which obviously means that the picture they sent you is probably some good looking model or something.

OR

3.They always chat with you from a cyber cafe and never from home. In this case they show themselves on a webcam and you might wonder how come a good looking guy like him is still single.. They always say the internet at home sucks or they live in an area which does not have a good internet connection or their laptop at home is not working or something or the other.. These men are already married and have a family at home so obviously they cannot do all this from home hence the cyber cafe. These men also swich off their mobiles or never answer them once they get home. They probaby have a separate cell number for these kind of activities which they switch off once they go home to their unsuspecting wives.

4. They sometimes have very pity stories like their wives left them or someone else or wife died of cancer and they have a small kid who really needs a mother.

5.They would make some sort of story that they don't have cash at the moment and they need money to pay their child's school fees or their rent or to buy airfare to come and see you.

If you are smart enough, you would never send them a penny or even give them your bank account.

I just made a mistake once when I was still new to this cyber dating stuff way back in 1999 and I sent out a couple of thousand bucks to a guy who was supposed to come down to see me but ofcourse he never did.. After that I have never ever trusted anyone when it comes to monetary issues.

So my dear sisters, be careful when you talk to strangers on the internet and never give away too much personal information. Never give them your address and your bank acccount details and needless to say, never send them money no matter how genuine they seem..

I hope this information will be useful for many..

Last but not least, be careful of these sites

Mehndi.com

Shaadi.com

Match.com

Shaadionline.

There are a lot of crooks out there on these dating/matrimonial sites..

Not necessarily, I have also heard about the Iraq war veteran story and American women falling prey to it.

It is not a "website fraud", its a con job. Anyone can be conned no matter how many website frauds they know about, better be on your guard.

NO ONE is to be blamed for the selfishness of others, there are many naive 30 year olds here in Doha. uk qtr thanks for your post I dont think use of these websites would be openly discussed by women so they would be very much unaware of the pitfalls and easily taken for a ride. And no Qatarisun I have not been burned I have been married for over 20 yrs.

Women of ALL ages globally and daily get lured by men who con, rape and murder them. These women fall prey by men who come to them with good intentions and qatar in particular with most the native population being very wealthy, women who might otherwise have been wary of this are Not.

The best of people have been conned out of many things, Not because they weren't cautious but because the con artists have been Good at what they do.

Billions of dollars for example were Stolen by bernard madoff from some of the most prominent people in american history. This just goes to show that no matter who you are, your not immune from being conned.

Reminding women to be wary of such things especially in an islamic country where most people are taken at face value is Not a bad thing. If you think it is then you are obviously making it quite clear to everyone how ignorant you are.
