Going by your profile which says you are Sri Lankan, you may find the Qatari food too bland for your taste.. We Asians are so used to spices and chillies that it is very difficult to adapt to bland food.. At least I have not even during my 30 years in this country.. East or West, our traditional food is the best.
Thanks Xena. I've been meaning to try it for such a long time.I wish there was more Qatari food available here. Seems a shame to live in a foreign country and have so much trouble eating genuine local food.
Balhambar stopped serving Qatari food a few years back and has since just served Lebanese food. The shop on airport road is good. I have only ever eaten their food during Ramadan, with other Qatari friends who assure me it is very authentic. I heard that there is a place on Salwa Road somewhere after the flyover but before decoration roundabout called Gulf Star of Khaleeji Star or something, but I've never managed to find it. Not sure where else you can possibly find true, Qatari food.
