Land Loard charing fine for leaving Qatar
hi, my colleague is leaving qatar for good, as he is getting transferred to dubai with promotion. he received the notification from the company on 18/07/2011 and informed him to report to dubai office by 05/08/2011 as this is an emergency requirement.
he informed his landloard in writing on 19/07/2011 about this and requested him to return the post dated cheques and relieve him from the dues. the contract was for one year from March 2011 onwards. the land loard replied and informed his cheques will be returned but they will charge for august rent.
please confirm if there is any rule in qatar rental law by which he can request the land loard not to charge him for august rent.
awaiting for your valuable advices...
I think to terminate the contract there should be a minimum notice period mentioned in the contract. Read the contract carefully and talk to the Landlord accordingly.
quite rightly there should be a penalty for early termination so 1 months rental sounds reasonable to me...also depends on what the lease agreement states.
it all depend upon whats written in the contract....if its mention in the contract then one has to pay.
