I'm moving to Qatar with my wife, 3 years old child and one infant.

the offer is as following:

- QAR 6600 for housing

- QAR 1750 for Transportation

- QAR 13000 Base Salary

NO School allowance

How do you see this offer? is it reasonable for life costs in Qatar?

I'd like also to know what's the best area to live in without being far from the work or either from the city centre of Doha considering 2 bedroom appartment and Is the allowance enough for that?.

which categoy of cars I can buy with a loan using this Transportation allowance and how about schooling and nursery costs.

Thanks in advance for your support.

To me it really depends whether you want to live in luxury or ordinary. If your kid is only 3 years old, then it's ok as you can start school latest by 5. Anyway if schooling is a problem, then I suggest you don't bring your family here. Familiarize with the living cost here before you bring them over.

Depending your area, you can get a 2 BR room furnished as low as 6500, transport ( if you get a driver ) = 700 per month. Food ( 150*30 = QR 4500 max ).

thanks all for the replies.

I have only two kids (3 years old kid and one infant)

By the way, they provide private medical and life insurance for the whole family but accourding to the company's policy, they don't provide schooling for this grade and i'll have to wait without it for something like 3 or 4 years.

Any ideas about the question of accommodation area?

3 kids and no scholar fees? scholar fees are very high here in doha... any insurance?

it depends what is the position, what is your life style.

i ll say:

qar 6000 for  flat renting.

qar 2500 car loan  (20% of the full amount should be cash advance)

qar 5000 monthly expenses

this is my point of vie but i ll repeat it, scholar fees are expensive here.

and try to negociate for a family helath insurance

good luck
