Hi Guys,
I need your sincere advise. I purchased a used car (2007 model) about 3 - 4 months ago and the car was in good ocndition, very clean from outside and inside. The odometer showed around 35000 Kms. Today I went to the agency for 40,000 km service and they told me that the previous owner had already done the 40,000 km service in 2009 January and the odometer reading at that time was 48,000 Km.
This was a big shock for me and I want to take legal action against the previous owner. I want to teach him a lesson. What should I do? How can I make a legal complaint agianst him. I don't have his cell number or contact details.
Please advise. I want to teach him a lesson so that he should not think of cheating others as he cheated me.

to you that much? Are you not satisfied with the car? Did he specifically said that the car is still under the warranty period?Usual condition ro warranty period is odometer reading or number of years from date of purchase whiever cccomes first. But if it is reallya big deal to you, then go on for whatever legal action you wnt to pursue!
It can be done. Check out this youtube video:

The guy said he lost the service booklet. My mistake, I should have doubted him.I think I have the old insurance paper, I will check that. Good idea Cruveck :)
Wouldnt the agency stamp the relevant page on the service booklet for 40,000 KM service after that service is done.
vehicle odometers??? electronic?
All you need is the QID No. of this person. Try to check in the registration paper or the old insurance document for this informtion.
My friend when thru a similar situation, and he got his money back. Be prepared to have a long battle.
All the best!
I'm sorry about your predicament, but you should have kept his contact details for reference.
