Audio Setup
By si7entki77er •
Hello,
Just a question to all those who had their cars setup its audio system in the shops near crazy signal. was the result ok? thus it sounds clear.. in which particular shop u went? im planning to have mine thats why im asking u guys who had yours already. which size and brand is the most nicest.. but im just after clarity, not whole bass.. thank you for the time. comments will be highly appreciated.
If you haven't got the setup their you can ask the admin of "AudioBasics" at facebook For your type of setup just search audiobasics no space. We all have different tastes, for me honestly i like more base.
i missed this thread, bluepanther is right, start with your headunit, then front speakers(make sure it's component, 3 way sucks),no need for rear speakers if you're going front staging. make sure your headunit is pioneer or alpine. for front speakers, i tried kicker but it was annoying for me since it gives out more high frequencies, like cymbals and the like. i have cadence right now and it suits me fine. you can try jbl also if you find one here. here are the things you gonna need: true gauge 2 or 0 wiring kit, pioneer headunit, component speakers, 2 amplifiers(1 mono, 1 4channel) 1 subwoofer(don't f**ing buy pioneer, sony, kenwood or any tube type)never mind if your system is expensive, it WILL BE WORTH IT, i assure you. i did not mind if i need to wait for months just to save enough money for my system,at least i'm happy and proud..: ). and a trusted installer. good luck! give us update when you're done, maybe i can help you fine tune your system...: )
that stocks Kicker subs and ams and Alpine headunits. If yoy are coming from Landmark, turn right at Immigration R/A then take the service lane and then take teh first right turn. Go straight and you will reacha traffic light. The shop will be directly infront on the opposite left hand corner of the lights. I was very surprised to see the Kicker brand here. I had two 10" Kic=kers back in Australia running off one mono kicker and that setup kicked hard.I can not remember the name of teh shop but you can't miss it once you reach the lights.

thanks Bluepanther.. how about your comment cdp..
cdp its correct on the speakers, unfortunately, i haven't seen them here. I'd prefer JBL or Infinity's to Pioneer speakers. As for the head unit, you can try out an amplifier and a good set of speakers but if the source ain’t good – you would have issues.Start small – sell ur head unit in QL :-) and pick up a good head unit with some rear speakers, front speakers next, then a small amplifier with a good woofer, tweeters for the front dashboard. (that’s the basic). You’d also wait for cdp’s comment – they have this Filipino drivers club and their member cars are pimped up (albeit within the legal limits of Qatar) with good audio systems to boot. They’d surely give ya pointers on where to kit out your ride or where to import stuff. They do not allow me to join their club though
... just make sure they are made in the USA!
JBL make professional speakers!
excatly Bluepanther.. i have a JVC stereo.. is that wont do me good? can i just leave my JVC then get a nice speakers and ampli's..
you don't need that setup like the one on your pic to have good audio system. the one in the pics are for competition purpose only. you can have sound quality with a precise measured box for the woofer and good placements of component speakers : ). i can show you my setup if you want but it's nothing like that in the pic. mine is simple but with good sound quality, it's my pride and joy : )
you won't find any good audio systems in crazy signal. your budget should be around Qr5000+ if you want a mid level system. try echo sounds near landmark, they have good ones that will satisfy you...panther is right, alpine and pioneer for headunit. if you want sound quality, you need to order online. though i saw some focal speakers in echo sounds. don't ever buy pioneer, jvc and sony speakers. they are crap. buy good brands online so your money will be worth it.
As long as you not looking for the kit in the picture, you should be fine.
JVC head units are the cheapest. Pioneer/Alpine head units are good. Sony/Kenwood in between.
Depending on your vehicle current system, you have to pick up a 1 DIN or 2 DIN size (those bigger units). You can look for a DVD player too with screen built into the head unit (not recommended for safety purposes)
I'd suggest a Pioneer head unit with Pioneer speakers. If you want more Bass, then add in a small active subwoofer. Even more bass, then an amplifier with passive woofers with custom made enclosures (like your picture)
If you want your bum to shake, then put in a woofer under your seat.
All the shops around that Sana roundabout are fine - i go to Car 2000. They serve the purpose.
I still haven't seen a good audio kit set up in any car in Qatar as yet. Seen couple of kits in vehicles from Saudi and in Bahrain.
