UAE Visit Visa Required?
Hello all, I and my wife are planning to go to UAE for vacations. We both have Qatar Residence Permit. I am Australian passport holder and my wife has Pakistani passport. As my wife is under my sponsorship, I will like to know if we both can travel to UAE without visa, if we are going there for around 17 days. I know, as an Australian citizen, I can enter UAE and get visa on arrival at Dubai Airport for around 30 days. However, I am not sure about my wife. Usually, Pakistani Passport holders need visa before travelling to UAE; however, on the website for Dubai tourism, it is mentioned that family which is under sponsorship of a person who does not need a visa to enter UAE also do not require visa to enter UAE. Its hard to believe everything on these websites; lot of the info is not even updated for ages.
Has anyone done a trip as mentioned above before? or know about the visit visa conditions in UAE? Is there a visa condition like the one they have in Bahrain that you need to have GCC RP for atleast 6 months and not expiring for another 6 months, only then you can enter?
Your help will be very much appreciated. Cheers
Hi. I am working for QP. I am planning to go to dubai this eid. i wanted to know whether i can get visa on arrival at dubai airport with designation as maintenance technician. I have read that VON is mostly for engineering and high ranking posts only. But assuming that QP is govt. owned and hence public sector , so working for a public sector firm can i get visa on arrival irrespective of designation?

Thanks Khanan. My wife's RP is almost valid for 6 months. We are flying on 27th October 2011 and her RP is valid till 24th April 2012. Is being 3 days short of 6 months valid RP good enough or not?
She has MRP (machine readable passport). We are flying with Fly Dubai.

Thanks a lot for your help bfiroz.
My profession is engineer, so it should be fine. My wife is under my sponsorship and does not work currently. So hopefully we should get visa on arrival at Dubai Airport, and I'll just pay for it. Thanks a lot for your help.
I travelled with my wife and kid last feb. i am an indian passport holder and System Analyst visa, got visa on arrival @ dubai airport for me, wife and son. the process is a bit time taking and also remember to carry cash in hand as they ask cash payment for visa insted of Card. The visa fee is i think185 AED per passport.
Happy Journey and have a nice time.

Thanks all for your help. I went to UAE embassy today and asked them the same question. They told me that as long as I am travelling with my wife, she can get visa on arrival same like me as long as her passport is machine-readable (which hers is). They did not mention any condition regarding Qatar RP validity though. Anyway, by the time we'll travel, her RP will be around 6 months old and around 6 months left. So I hope there should not be a problem Insha Allah.
Thanks all so much for your help. Highly appreciated.
Dont worry mate, u read it right on tht website. Ur wife ll get visa on arrival at Dubai airport if she is under ur sponsorship in Qatar. Just make sure tht her RP has atleast 3 months validity :)
If you can get on arrival visa then your wife can also get it if you are going together.
You and your family can get visa on arrival, there would not be any problem. they need Machine readable passport but I got on arrival visa twice on manual passport as well.should not be any problem for sure.
OK NO PROBRAM GO TO INDIA
You may get very confusing answers in this forum. Best way to check is give a visit to Fly Dubai office and ask them. Dubai website rules are not updated most of the time
If wife is under husband's sponsorship, she can get she can get visa on arrival.
She should have MRP. Thats the requirement from UAE MoI and her RP should be vaild at least for 6months.
A one time entry will cost you Dh 135/pasport.
