Car inspection help

I need some advice on my recent car inspection.  My husband took the car today to be inspected. For the past three years the car passed without issue.  Nothing has been changed or altered on the car.  Today, it didn't pass because of a bit of tinting that is actually in the glass itself.  (The windshield). The car was manufactured with this windshield and was purchased new in Qatar.  How can this not be a problem for the last three years, but now doesn't pass?  what are we to do- replace the entire windshield?

My husband tried to ask the man why was it fine last year but not now, but all the officer did was yell "forbidden!"

What are we to do?

As my husband was driving back, he spotted so many cars with this same type of tint.  (It is like a 4 inch tint on the top part of the windshield.)

Is there another location besides the one in Industrial area we can try?

We are thinking of going back to the dealership and have them write a letter that it is an original windshield with the tint built in.  I assume all new cars sold in Qatar must meet requirements including tinting.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

It passed the inspection, it was the police at the end who failed it!  We are going to try a different location and with a letter from the dealer, hopefully it will pass.  I am also going to go with this time.  They may pass it for a blond American rather than my Arab husband!

what it written in paper?which part it fails, technical or legal??normaly if only tint in windshield only legal will fails.in this point find police on the technical inspection area, he will sign and stamp your paper and that it. you can continue to renew u istimara.and when you in police for pint instimara you will ask for 25/50QR for windshield approval use.

Tint/Film is normally "Failed" BUT if you proceed to police officer he will just see and look at it and immediately sign the inspection paper without further question. They usually strict in some major faults of the Car such as Engine, Lights, Brakes and Tires etc....Good luck.

...explain the situation with the inspector there - he might sign it off. It is not a surprise that policies differ in Qatar - in your case there was no after sale tint put in - since it came OEM, another inspector might sign it off

Tint is only a technical issue. Go to moroor and register your car.

if you stay some where close to Al Wakra, you can try it there too. There is one in wakra, just 200 meters after the pearl roundabout
