As far as adopting a dog, there's plenty of choice. Look at Qatar Animal Welfare Society (QAWS) www.qaws.org (who also have a boarding kennel, although I've never used it), Dogs in Doha (www.dogsindoha.weebly.com) and Parkview Pet Centre usually have some dogs in for rehoming.
There is a dog boarding facility opposite to Vilagio mall. I think it is called Qatar veterinary center. Here is the link http://www.qatarvet.name.qa/QVC/HOME.html.They have excellent facilities and I have personally checked as one of my friend's pet was kept there for a week. Call them for the charges.
