job offer
I am a graduate mechanical engineer from India having 2 year experience. Now i am in Qatar on a visit visa. I got a job offer of 4000QR+ Acoommodation+ car in an MEP project. But they are asking for my Degree certificate as a security measure for thee year bond. Wats ur openion about this? is it is safe. Expecting your valuable advice...
ani_chy has the best answer;)
is they will increase u r salary every year or for three yrs it will be same ,pls keep in mind that cost of leaving is increasing every year ......if u get a good job in other country u cannot go from here... so think before u sign the contract
what you can really do is take good photo copies of your certificates, and get it attested by your uni or college, or you can get it attested, proofed and verified by some valid and legal attesting agency. this can also be done by your country embassy or by your ministry of foreign affairs!. Submit to them the original attested copies rather than giving your original degree certificates. There is no need to reject the job, 4000+house+car for project is a good start,

You can get a better job offer then this, without a bond as well. Never ever get into a timed contract. 3 years is a LOOOOOOOOOOG period my friend.Look around for more opportunities... I am sure you will find something better. Good Luck
you offer is not the best u will get good offer than this as i am also working in MEP sector. if u give ur original degree certificate than they will play with you............. a good company never ask for it...........
there is no value attached to the bond. I think i can approach labour court if it is needed in future and i can recieve my certificate back. One of my friend told me that as per Qatar law bond more than 2 years is not valid. is it is true
My frnd dont do this.
they need to bond me for 3 years.
Is there a value attached to the bond? - if you leave before 3 years, you have to pay that value to the employer.Never heard of certificates being held as security. The law anyways protects employers out here - exit permits, NOC etc - so not sure what they achieve by holding on to your certificate.
They want to bond you for three years with them. Never ever give the original degree certificate especially when the package is not a good one. Clever guys to tie you there without a rope (Your original degree certificate will be their rope).
Never heard of anything like this before...why do they need your certificates when you are under their sponsorship?
Dont give your Original certificates to anyone....ask them to keep copies.
