Qatar Driving License

I am an Indian national and I have an expired American drivers license ( Expired in May 2010). I do not have a Indian driving license yet. Can I take the driving test directly ? I have been driving for last 5 years and I am fairly confident.My friends tell me I CANNOT take driving test directly and its compulsory to take minimum of 12 driving classes.How much does the test cost?Thank you for all the inputs. 

if you are confident, you can go for direct test.

u can take final road test...but you have to attend 12 classes if u r Indian license holder.

only GCC driving license holder can change it to qatari license

 as far as i know even if u have a driving license from ur home country, u still have to enroll to driving school to get a license here.mind u, not all who can drive are lucky to pass the driving test here so goodluck to u;)
