England - They dont look like champions

India register another one-sided win over helpless England who seem to be on a holiday in India.

The prospect of a whitewash is a distinct reality now and should that happen on Tuesday in Kolkata, it would be the perfect Diwali gift for the Indian fans who had undergone the horror of watching their team capitulate meekly throughout a bleak English summer.

Three Pakistan cricketers and an agent have been jailed over a betting scandal involving bowling deliberate no-balls in a Test match against England at Lord's last summer.

Pakistan's former Test captain Salman Butt received a 30-month sentence and fast bowler Mohammad Asif was given a 12-month term behind bars.

Teenage fast bowler Mohammad Amir was jailed for six months after he admitted bowling two intentional no-balls.

The corrupt UK-based sports agent at the heart of the fixing scandal, Mazhar Majeed, was jailed for two years and eight months at London's Southwark Crown Court.

Judge Jeremy Cooke said: "These offences, regardless of pleas, are so serious that only a sentence of imprisonment will suffice."

Take them down please..... good riddance. Cheating bas..rds.

Well unfortunately due to the fact that England wont actually play any test matches in India this time, we will have to wait for that - one dayers and one pointless T/20 only on this meaningless tour. England are next in action early in the new year in UAE against ................... yeah, you guessed it, Pakistan!!! 3 tests in AD and Dubai and a bunch of one day/T20 games.

Finally someone got caught.. Good on ya News of the Worlds.. Only if they had a branch in other parts of the world may be they could expose a few more cheats?

I have heard that England beat India in the T20 last weekend.. Wow at least they wont go home empty hand like India did..:)

Now lets wait for the Tests.. But at Home I think India will do much better than what they did in India.

Well I for one am pleased to see these two brought to justice. Bear in mind that there are no winners here - not English cricket, not Pakistan cricket or repuation, not the game in general terms. Shoddy and shabby but the two of them needed to be hung out to dry - the cricket authorities have already done it and now the civil authorities have as well - shame but there it is.

@Doha Knight. I expect Mr Qatar to keep silent on the matter...

I don't want to open another thread on today's news about two players being found guilty of fixing spot situations in an international match and receiving illegal money.

mr_qatar needs to look into his own backyard before telling something about other countries..

Why would you even suggest that England are "champions" - they are not champions of ANY one day tournament - they ARE No 1 in the world currently at test cricket, they ARE the curent holders of the T/20 World Cup BUT they are just another team in one day terms who have been soundly beaten by the CURRENT one day world champions..India!!

If you are going to use QL to try and make some humourous gesture, do us all a favour....dont!!

They were right here in QL and at that time India were perhaps more in the UK for shopping (like I suppose the England team is doing in India at the moment) and collection of funds for their public or petty causes back home.

Ahhhh...GOJ - never misses a change to have a go at the English (or British, does he know the difference?) - strange that someone from Sweden should have such an interest in this topic??? Not the first time GOJ has raised something like this.

shaibu Yeah tigers at home but lambs for the slaughter away from home. I suppose all the Indian hospitality and them being pampered and treated as royals in India must have made them forget what they are actually in India for.
