I call to place an order from work , and i am calling from my private line , they have my address on file ..

After i place my order , we need your mobile number?
I said i dont have a mobile , im new here in qatar.
He said sorry we cant place your order.

I asked why do they need my mobile , he said "So when the driver arrives , he can call you and let you know the order is here"

So I said "What difference does it make , you can call me on this private line ?? " He said no its company policy we need a mobile number.

What the hell is this rule?

some of you are missing the point, I think Stephanie was being sarcastic when she said, she doesn't have money to buy a mobile phone...

Anyway, the answer is simple, delivery drivers do not call you when they arrive at your location, they give a missed call, which is difficult to do on landlines without a digital pad, that's the only explanation. Companies in Qatar are too strict with money to allow the drivers to actually make a chargeable call to the customer.

It's def not about making sure it's not prank call, it's easier to track a landline then a mobile line.

LoL UkEng !

There are policies for this fast food outlets for the delivery orders.

If you cant give the info they want, better cook at home and eat.

It's simple: if you don't have a mobile phone, you don't eat fast food. You surely live a healthier life than everybody else!
