GRANT MANAGER SALARY
First of all thanks for visiting my post.
I am a naturalized U.S citizen, with MBA(USA) and 5 yrs of working experience in finance field.
how much can I expect if I get a job offer as a Grant Manager at a university in Doha. free housing is included in benefits. please make it simple for me,
Oh, and let me add some further clarifications here. If you are a grant manager for a single investigator then I would revise my estimate down to $30,000 USD/yr. If you are the head of a department or division reporting to a senior VP for research then a higher amount would be appropriate. Good enough?

OK, here are some facts and figures. If you are a US citizen your salary is not tax free. There may be a foreign earned income exemption on SOME of it if you meet certain criteria. If you are working for a US university your salary should be between $50,000 and $80,000/year. If you are looking at QU it will be quite a bit less. You may graciously thank me now! These are the best I can do with the meager information provided (not to mention the prickly attitude!)

try to do a skin transplantation surgery or be proud to be an indian and throw away your US passport in ohio river..! some of the most paid professionals and businessmen in the middle ease are born indians,native indians and indian citizens..
From your conversation, above I am tempted to write the following ! Please think well if you can adapt yourself here,before considering salary.
FACTS :Remember this is the richest country in the world. One must be able to adapt to the local culture ans respect their values and you will be happy here!
One needs to be very patient .
Good things are that the cost of living is lesser, tax free income, many expatriates around ,(mostly from India and neighbouring countries and UK )most of the year has a good climate but from June to august. With A.C all around you can manage that well. Lots of sports activities that you can do if you are interested in and for your kids and family and nice beaches and corniche to spend your weekends.
Please know that everytime you need to leave the country, you need an exit permit from your employer (I think it is done within a day ).
Also NOC if incase you wish to change job within the country or leave and you will need to wait for 4 months atleast to get your RP .
I have started liking Qatar, for the quiet life that am getting , lower cost of living, with nice eateries, low cab costs, the malls etc.. (am comparing with the previous country where i lived, in south east asia. )

Hi jmmy, please dont get offended, and dont jump to conclusions based on the feedback you have received so far.
have you already been offered a job here, if yes, it may help if you tell us what you have been offered and from which university.then you may get a better feedback.
you may also search the site to understand what would amount as a good salary package.
you are just another immigrant, who didnt like the pay your passport was giving you and decided to change the nationality to make a few extra bucks....

Jimmy , You have alredy been given some numbers here, further more if you need specific numbers it depends on which Univ is offering you this position, Also each Univ will have their own figures for each grades, figures which are not up for negotiation so the best option would be to go for the interview, hear from the horse's mouth the figures, and decide for yourself .
since you dont know how much you want, do you want QLers to spoon feed you that info as well....
thanks. i feel very comfortable after reading responses. i dont know what i was thinking before cumming on this form. you are right my degree is questionable just like your childish attitude. i wanna see some numbers here.
Gee whiz, how much simpler do you want it? Zada already said about twenty thousand, others pointed out it may depend on where you obtained your degree and not your skin colour... You did not ask "how low can you go" but how much you can extpect... big difference... do you want them to draw pictures as well. If you cannot understand their answers then your degree is definitely questionable!
man why dont you just tell me how low can i go in salary. thats why i mentioned it upfront please keep it simple for me.
an average business school in .. if i graduated from MIT or HARVARD. then i have no reason to be on this forum.

Well, yeah, but the US is a big place with great, good and lousy schools. As I say, it depends on where your degrees are from, as in, what schools. If we are talking distance learning here, fuggeddaboudit!

Depends on the university! As well as where your degrees are from and your work experience - not your skin color.

i heard that only white people gets paid high. even though i am a U.S citizen but me being an Indian will not lower my package. whats the minimum or reasonable salary i can ask from my employer.
dont take anything under 20 thousand riyals a month+housing.
