Filipino Wife Got her Visa Today but ??

My company applied for my wife a visa to come here so we can convert it to the residents visa.

The original paper visa said 3 month "WORK RESIDENCE VISA - XID - SPONSOR ONE VISIT 03 MONTH.

She done the medical in the Philippines. DHL said this was required for this type of visa.

Sent all documents through DHL.

Today - her passport was returned with a 3 month visa.

MY QUESTION: One the visa in the passport it says Visa Type: WORK

IS THIS normal for this type of visa to be listed as WORK?

She will not be working here. Will the Philippine Immigration as for a work contract for her?

Thanks,
Ken

Found out today........ Yeah a little mistake was made with the Work Visa with the Occupation as Housewife.

I did not think about getting a contract based on her visa status. ;-)

Mistakes happen, time to re-apply for a new visa.

maybe that's the reason why your company was the sponsor. You started in the wrong foot my friend. Liasse with your company mandoob as to your next move! That visa is really unique (a housewife work visa?).

Its because your company processed her visa. She will not need to work, if you dont need her to. But if you need her to be transferred over to your sponsorship, you can ask your immigration office for assistance. Enjoy your time together.

You need to rebook her ticket. procedure takes at least 10 days maximum 14 working days.

she already have a visa sticker in her passport, transit via HK or somewhere is no longer an option.

if the name written as sponsor is your company, sad to say she cannot make it on her flight schedule because she will have to undergo the normal procedure an OFW have to go through to leave our country.

her visa will be transferable to your sponsorship once she is in Doha.

Other Idea????????

Book a ticket from Phil to HK

Connecting flight to Doha???

What is required to leave the Philippines for HK travel?

I don't think she can do the OFW documents since she is truly not an OFW. My company will not allow that to happen.

Then with her coming in on a work visa, maybe this cannot be transferred here in Qatar to a family visa under my sponsorship. Maybe more problems created.

After the time it takes to do the OFW documents, maybe the company can change the visa to a family visa.

okay good to know...

believe me man,you need all these documents since she is traveling as OFW. so you need agency who can process the OEC and all required documents. remember that you cannot get OEC without contract attested from POLO and Embassy in Doha. Agency can do it for you and you have to pay some amount.

She can try her luck, go to the airport and see if immigration will allow her. Send her your passport and residence permit copy so she can prove that you are here. Hope for the best. IF she can't, then no choice but go for the OEC. Work visas normally has to be under a job order, and processing for the OEC will be 3-5 days could be. But if there is no JO, a special procedure is an option. The processing period will normally depends on how you can present the documents required, sometimes too many compliance of requirements from POEA will take as long as one month.

I am from the US so it is different.

How long does the OEC and POEA process take?

She is scheduled to fly here Thursday.

Thanks,

she will have to do the same formalities like you when you came here. all procedures in line with the POEA

With this infos (Housewise - Work Visa), the more that your wife will be questioned in the immigration, or worst might be uploaded (not allowed to leave). Better go for the POEA processing, obtain the OEC then she has a good chance to leave. If you like, send me a message and I can give you a number, you can call him so to enlighten you on your concerns.

I just checked the paper copy of the printed visa and it shows my company is the sponsor, not me. Also it list her for Occupation: HOUSEWIFE

Her Visa Type (in the passport) states: WORK

I am really confused so I am wondering if the Philippine Immigration desk will be confused also.

If DHL required your wife for a medical, that means she is holding a working visa sponsored by your company, and she is not on family visa under your sponsorship. The stamping of the visa on her passport by the Qatar Embassy in the Phils. does not guarantee that she can leave. Since she is holding a working visa, she has to go through the OFW - POEA processing, PDOS then OEC. And I don't think direct processing (like the direct hiring procedure before) is still allowed in POEA. She has to have a dummy contract, stamped by the Doha POLO, then processed in POEA in the Phils. by a licensed agency. You can call or go to Doha - POLO to verify or inquire.

normal or common practice as it may seem, the immigration officer in the Philippine airport will not allow her to leave unless she presents all the necessary documents pertinent to the WORK RESIDENCE issued to her. she should carry a FAMILY VISIT visa.

GodFather.

Normal, Company will bring her on their visa and then transfer under your sponsorship, very common practice.

I am the sponsor.

I did not want any surprises like Phil immigration wanting a return ticket or work contract.
