Blackberry Blues of Carrefour
I had purchased a BB 9900 Bold from Carrefour, and 10 days it has a blank screen problem. When I took it back to carrefour the reply was they need 2 weeks to get back to me. The invoice said 15 days exchange for defective items, and now they were contradicting the same citing the micro letter condition at the back of the invoice. This was daylight cheating.. I had purchased their one year extended warranty too expecting them to have some international standards. This was such an appaling response from such a reputed firm.

Thank you guys for your help and suggestions, I have put up a complaint with Consumer Protection and Carrefour ME. Funny part was when contacted RIM they redirected to some support forums, rather than taking it up ..bit strange isnt it???
Best part was the response from Consumer Protection department, they were very cooperative and helpful. Now the investigation is on.. Had couple of calls from carrefour, they are feeling the heat now.
You should have come back to Carrefour within 24-36 hours from time of purchase.
It will take them 2 weeks to check the gadget whether its "factory defect" or you did something why it wasnt working.
I guess you thought that after 10 days AFTER you purchased you walk back and say its not working, THEY WILL JUST GET A NEW UNIT and exchange it?

I purchased the Superior Blackberry Preserve (with 60% fruit) from Carrefour at CC and the lid is jammed shut :O(
there was a contact number put up here in QL some months back.
where can i find a consumer rights department for such a complaint? Do I need to know arabic to deal with them?
@ Mister X yea the box was sealed.
Their reason is very vague, they have their service centre in Dubai so needs to send it there for verifying the complaint.. I have no clue why they dont have a service centre in Qatar they sell so much consumer electronics here
Did they gave you the unsealed box? I have the same problem with the sony ericsson brand. I demanded for a sealed one but they said they usually open the boxes for inspection..hmmm... I ended up returning the SE 2days later and changed it to iphone which are all sealed. hah!
@ameerazeez, with a blank screen,,, how the eff could he update the software ???
Carrefour in Qatar are really bad.. No point talking to their managers as they don't know what they are doing. Just a waste of time. Try the consumer rights department..
Talk to the manager.
