Hello,
We are considering moving to Doha, and I'm really concened about school for my children. They were born and raised in Canada, so an international school is our only option. But the price range seem to vary a lot between schools! Any advice?
Try doha College. Definitly Stay away from international school of london.
The international school of london is one of most expensive schools in Doha and yet the worst by far. Everyone i know attending the international school of London in Doha is about to leave the school.
Poor education and a total waste our kids time to send them to this school. Stay away of this school and try other ones. Such as Global, Doha College, DESS.
We and our friends had a terrible experience in regards to learning. Some of us managed to send the kids to other school and some are looking for places for their kids.
:))) wishing u the best inshaa allah ,,,i sent amail to American School of Doha they replied and send to me ther application so fast,,,u can try it too :))
well my advice to u is jus be hurry dont waste time when u know a good school just log on its website try to complete the application form as some schools have already started accepting applications and mail it ,,so just as quickly as u can coz u gonna find a long waiting list ,,but as long as their mother tongue is English they will have priority

Thanks all for your valuable replies! There are sooo many schools to look into but because I'm still in Canada, I feel blindfolded!! What I don't like about the Canadian school is that it's in a villa with no gym and yet the fees are as much as the well-established huge American School, doesn't make sense! When they are settled in a good building, I'll consider them. my friend today told me about a new school called American CommunitySchool. I'll look into that one and let u know! :)
The QCS is pretty good - my child hasn't been there for a few years, but I understand that they follow the Alberta curriculum. I also understand that they are moving to have a full high school curriculum.
Otherwise, try the American School of Doha, and the Michael DeBakey High School for Health Professions (highly recommend this one), both excellent schools following the American curriculum.
I would suggest you not wait too long to contact any school. Places at the last two I mentioned fill very quickly - ASD has long wait lists.
What I know about ACS is that they're a new school and are experiencing some problems associated with a new school. However, they have some excellent teachers and a management body that has the right priorities. They are probably a very good option considering the difficulty getting into some of the more established international schools.
We are moving from Alberta to Doha this summer, and I certainly understand your concerns!
While there seem to be a few good schools out there, none have been particularly encouraging about accepting all of our children, one of our kids will be entering Kindergarten and that seems to be the most challenging. ACS International has been the one exception, though being a new school I have a hard time getting a lot of feedback about it. And to be frank, they haven't been great about responding to emails/phone calls and answering my questions.
I'm assuming you checked out Qatar Canadian School? It seems if they find a new, larger building, they may be expanding significantly?
Please share anything you've come across, I'm in the same boat as you!
