IMPORT/EXPORT experts please HELP!
Hi,
I am an indian living now in qatar. I have a package which is currently in Egypt and I need to receive in Qatar by Air. Content of the package is actually 10000 pencils which is custom printed which is meant to give as compliment to one of my clients. But I heard recently Qatar had some changes in their import/export regulations and I am a little confused about those rules and regulations. I would really appreciate if anyone can advise me how to get this package in qatar cheaper and if possible faster. these are the details of my package:
Item: Normal Pencils
count: 10000 pcs
total package weight: 80-90 kgs ( 3 cartons in total).
cubic meters: .107 meters (approx.)
F.O.B price of the package: 3700 QR
currently I don't have an import license. I would also appreciate if anyone can tell me what are the documents i need to get the license and which department I should go to. Thanking you all in advance :)

Customs rule changed as they now require "MADE IN . . ." marking on the boxes apart from the brand. You simply have to get a forwarder to contact the local forwarder in Egypt for the collection of your goods. Your forwarder must have complete original documents as invoice and packing list. Packing list must be detailed as to quantity, part number, exact description of the part number, weight, etc. If you don't have import license, a forwarder can use their import license on your behalf should he be that helpful to assist you. Upon reaching Qatar, you have to pay customs duty and legalization fee which amount is dependent on the amount of your shipment.

Your company Mandoob should be able to sort out a import license though i have not heard of any new change to qatar import regulation ;)
Also try & assign your shipmnt to a clearing agents ( aramex or any local agent ) who will need to run-around at customs office to clear shipments for which you will need to give him $$.
Also customs u may have to pay.
