Shiping my car

Hi

I need an advice from expertise. I’m going to ship/drive my car, BMW 2008 model, from Abu Dhabi to Qatar. Does any one has similar experience, or knows what the procedures are? What are the required documents? What about the customs fees? It’s better to drive or ship it? If I’m going with shiping, do you know a reputable shipment company?

Thanks

You can Contact Paragon Qatar +974-44299500. They are the best. My friend did the same and got a very good service from them.

Couple of active related threads in this forum now. But I've found Google can often do a better job (even looking into forums like this) than the site's own search engine.

GAC in Meena should be a good company to ship. For driving you need customs paper so as not to pay custom duty again in Qatar, export plates, Saudi Visa...there is some link between the timelines by traffic deptt. export clearance and applying for Saudi Visa...I am forgetting it now as it was some three years back when I came here ...do check before you attempt to drive yourself...I couldn't and so shipped through GAC. Also note that if you intend to sell the car here sometime later it may get you a lesser value plus check on the Warranty coverage if you are availing extended warranty or something from BMW...for my car (not BMW) it wasnt applicable even if it was just one year old and for transferring warranty the dealer here wanted QR10,000/-
