Child Passport Renewal - Indian

Recently I approached ICC to get my child's passport renewed and came to know that they do not accept passport applications for children (due to some change in rules). They told me that either of the parent needs to go to Embassy and submit the application. Would like to know if any of you have done the same, pls tell us about the requirements, should the child also should go with us ? As its really difficult to make the trip during the working hours and dont want to return due to any incomplete documents.

Best is to call your Indian embassy. Getting answers from here are ok. However, your embassy knows best! cheers!
