What is EGO ?

Its a disease in which
we have the tendency
to keep hurting the person
who cares for us! :(

When bird is alive, it eats Ants. When bird is dead, Ants eat bird." So, Time can turn at any point, Don't devalue anyone in life. YOU may be powerful now But time is more powerful than You. "One tree makes one lack match sticks, but one match stick can burn one lack trees". SO: It is possible that one negative thoughts can burn all positive thoughts

If having an Ego means loving yourself such that you will not allow anyone to belittle you and use you then an Ego is a good thing. If having an Ego means you know yourself well enough that what another says of false accusations and insults will not affect you then ego is a good thing.

But if an Ego means you think yourself superior to others, and it causes you to deny the truth even when concrete proof is thrust in your face then it's

NOT a good thing. If an ego causes you to hurt another knowing they will be tolerant and patient due to their love for you then it's NOT a good thing.

Anything that makes you feel good about yourself and makes you a more positive person is a good thing but if it's at the expense of another being hurt and harmed then its not.IMO of course!

The term ego is too elaborate to be described in one go. To complicate things further, it can have different connotations when used in different contexts.

The tendency to hurt a person who cares for us is again very vague. If you could explain a little what exactly you are looking for, perhaps I shall answer more specifically.

By britexpat• 6 Feb 2012 14:31
britexpat

You don't have to explain yourself to me. I care and understand :o)

By britexpat• 6 Feb 2012 14:23
britexpat

We will have to agree to disagree on this one.

I personally feel that the saying is a cop out. Basically saying that "I can do whatever I wish. And because you love me, you should accept my actions, no matter how hurtful - without without the need for an explanation"

I would suggest that the onus is on us to sometimes offer explanations in order to show that we care also.

cheers,bro!

have a good day! :)

P.s.:I might as well clarify ur doubts anyway...

1)i dnt undstand y u need to undstand all men

A)no body can understand "all" men...but they're all basically the same....more or less....but knowing intents always helps in avoiding getting fooled :)

2)and den again u need a book for undstanding men

A)i don't really 'need a book'...it was just a fun read...it just made me aware of few things that were always there right in front of me but i didn't notice.my bad!

3)dnt u have anythng better than that to perform..:))

A)'perform'....huh? :(

4)but i also dnt undstand if ur eyes were closed then how were u able to read the book :D

A)okay,i take that as a joke :D haha!

this is what happened....as i was reading thru the book,a lot of male reactions to certain situations i've come across personally and heard as experiences from my female friends kinda surfaced and made a lot more sense....and it does not explain Homer's Illiad.....it's just simple in-your-face facts.....very simple things that we women failed to take notice of....our bad!i take the book as an eye-opener.and it has totally changed the way i look at men and their behaviour....and has made me a much happier person :D and the book was co-written by a guy and a girl....u must read it sometime.it's worth it! :)

By Pappu_Pager• 6 Feb 2012 11:57

but that is just a book which will justify the writer not all men

By svelte_saggi• 6 Feb 2012 11:03
svelte_saggi

umm....actually the book is about men and only men.i think u missed something there :D and it was co-written by a guy too....it just gives an insight into what men actually think as opposed to what they show on the facade.....

LOL SS.. not " a lot of women".. i'd say ALMOST EVERY WOMAN thinks like you.. but u'd still bother to read about her and laugh abt her ... even knowing that you all are the same and her stupid actions actually reflect you own actions .. so why not just go in flash back mode and laugh at your own memories :P (JOKE)

on a more serious note,i feel it's actually good to have an ego...but it should be in 'fair measure'...to me,ego is a necessity for one to respect oneself.it's when we openly exhibit that ego and expect others to feed it that it becomes a pain.ego should be a private thing....extremely private.
