Application Process question

Hi to all. I just want to hear some ideas. I had an interview last Dec 22 on a construction company near Musherib area. Luckly after two weeks I had my second interview with them. In my assessment they are interested hiring me. That day while going home after the interview, their office manager called me, requesting for my passport and visa copy. I've sent it and waited since then. I called the office manager after two weeks and told me that there's still no response from the CCO and HR regarding my papers, although he said that there's already a recommendation from the manager that interviewed me. I've also called the manager twice, and told me that he will try to expedite my papers. What are the odds of me getting a job offer and eventually get hired? I have only 2 months left with my visa and that company is my most positive application as of now. Thanks!

Maybe, maybe not. I've also experienced that a few times. somebody will request for your CV, and once they have your contact number they'll call you, asking some questions, like an interview. But serious phone interview usually happens when you're abroad, but if you're already here in Qatar, don't treat that call too seriously, until they wanted a face to face interview. There can have 2-3 times face to face interviews usually. Good luck!

i think on your actual position, you have nothing to loose ! call them .at least, if it is negative, you could move on.

now i am planning to call their office manager for the progress. is it still proper? i want to ask him directly if there is something to hope for. I know it may be too risky to ask that but my time now is quite limited.

My friends, it's wrong, no Arab no pillions, no Indian all same, if you are qualified for the job definitely will be taking you, 1st of all, if they select you get the offer latter and get one more letter from them that they will be responsible for visa processing, if any things happen in future that they will be full and fully responsible and hand over your thing and passport so every things will be so smooth, or he will keep you for 2 to 03 months work, and say you goo bay after the vacation person come. Be care full.

The scenario is this: I was interviewed twice. The first one is with the IT manager. Then the second is with his superior. At the second interview, his superior said that he would highly recommend me to get hired, but the final decision is in the IT Manager. Then when I'm on my way home, their office manager called and requested for my passport/visa copy, not original, so I send it to them. Maybe it's for checking/evaluation process. Then I called him two weeks later and told me that they've already forwarded my papers to the COO and/or HR, just waiting for it to be send back to them. He also said that the IT manager already gave me the recommendation. I don't know what that means but I'm hoping it has something to do with final approval or something. Then if things go well, I hope they will finally send me the job offer. I don't think my nationality will matter, as it is an american based company, and I saw more white men than arabs. The chances of getting the job offer is what I need. It doesn't matter to me if I wait another processing time for the visa, I just need the job offer because the way I see it it, is a good company and they would offer a good compensation.

look around and apply to as many companies as possible in Qatar.

They don't deserve you, be positive.

Best of Luck!

the question isn't clear. Did they offer you a job, and just waiting for the visa? Or you are still waiting for the job offer? What chances do you want us to evaluate: chances of getting a job offer or chances of the company of getting your visa?

Also, I didn't understand, did you give them your original passport in December, and they still keep it since then?? for what??
