E-Gate Card Renewal
Hello Qlers,
Has anyone of you recently renewed your E-Gate card? If yes, could you please point me in the right direction of how to go about it.
I have heard it can only be done at the Gharaffa Immigration Office.
Just so it helps, I already have a Qatar Id with a chip.

It is very simple. Install Metrash2 in your mobile. Activate it by sending SMS to 92992. Text to be written is - M2R+QATAR ID NUMBER+ EXP DATE IN FORMAT DD/MM/YYYY. Then you will get two PINS. Enter it and create your desiared PIN to log in to application. In this application Egate renewal is there. No nee to go anywhere.

Go to main immigration at gharafa morning time. There are 2 applications to be filled by typewriter agents and signed by you. Then you can submit application. Remember to take with you old ecard and your ID. IF you have an egovernment card you have to take it with you also.

So that means it is no longer done at the Airport Immigration.
Its quite tricky because not many are aware of this procedure. I did struggle a bit, but finally found out what to do.
Go to the Immigration Office in Gharafa, building no 1. Take a token (when I went abt 4 months back,the person issuing the token did not have any knowledge about renewal of E-Gate at Immigration office & hence first refused to give me a token. But then after convincing him, he issued a token.) Get to the counter & give him/her your ID/E-Gate card & tell him that you wish to renew it. They are generally aware of the procedure & you should not have any problem.
Pay the required amount by Credit / Debit / ATM Card. The only issue is that you have to note down as to when your E-Gate will expire as this will be different from your ID expiry date.

I think you should go to the same Office from where it was issued (Airport Security & Passports Department)
