Does anybody have any information on when camel racing is held at the circuit towards Dukan. I believe it is Friday and Saturday but cannot find any time or even phone number to call?????
OK, the telephone number to the folks that manage the races USED to be 4487 2028. I haven't used that number in about a year or so, so I cannot vouch for whether it is still functional. I recommend having someone call who speaks Arabic, as no one I spoke with understood English any time I tried. I always had to have my Arab colleague call for me. And it's hit-or-miss as to whether they'll let you into the inner track area.
If you take the highway to Dukhan you can't miss it. Now it's very well marked. Couple years ago you almost had to have a GPS to find it. Check out the video at this link:
Lol....dweller, a helpful link on a government website? Come on! Jack 1975, you probably won't find any concrete public information as the racing isn't really aimed at tourists and is a very local event. However, been a few times on a Friday around 2pm and caught the racing...maybe go a touch earlier just in case.
Just head straight up to Rayyan Football Stadium and to Dukan...it's on the right a little further on, just look for the signs.

Max
never watched the racing but did visit some of the camps asking them to keep the beasts off the road on one particular weekend in February
Racing in the Trans-Qatar, we didn't want camels on the road when we were in sand yachts with no brakes travelling at up to 110KPH.
