Marriage Contract Registration (for Muslims) at the Philippine Embassy
I would like to inquire if anyone of you knows the requirements in registering a marriage contract at the Phil Embassy. My husband is Arab and we got married at the Shariah Court. I called the embassy this morning to inquire and they told me that I should go there personally to check the requirements. Honestly, we do not have the luxury of time. We prefer to go there to submit all the documents. Also, would anyone know how long the process would take. Again, when I called them, they told me to go there. I am disappointed with the service as we are not getting the needed assistance from the staff there. Some of them are also rude. Your feedback will be appreciated. Thank you.
you embassy is very bad...i also married a fillipina but i still suffer to register our marriage in philippines cos of these staff in qatar philippines embassy.....they r racists they dont treat you well the main reason is if you are married with a muslim. thats why they are not helpful. same thing happened to me, when they see my wife with black hijab their face was changed and they told me so many stories
For those of you who are also in need of the requirements, I was able to manage the below list and I am more than happy to share this with you:
1. Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) from NSO duly authenticated by DFA- Manila- submit original + 4 copies
2. Marriage Certificate- translated to English and stamped from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs- submit original + 4 copies
3. Passport and RP copies of both parties- 4 copies
4. 4 1 x1 sized- photos
5. Fees: Report of Marriage- QR100
Delayed Registration- QR100
Attestation of Marriage- QR100
Cheers!
I believe one important requirement is the marriage certificate (with English translation) must be authenticated in Sharja where the marriage was solemnized.
I am with you, our embassy here are not very helpful at times.
The following list may help you, though these are the requirements of our embassy in London, this should be almost the same with our embassy in Doha.
Recognition of Marriage of Filipino citizen
Filipino citizens marrying outside the Philippines have to file a Report of Marriage at the Philippine Embassy/Consulate nearest to their place of residence. The requirements are as follows:
A. Completed Report of Marriage form (to be submitted in triplicate)
B. Three 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm photos each of the applicant and spouse on white background taken within the last six months
C. Original and three (3) clear copies of marriage certificate
D. Three (3) clear copies each of the data page of the couple’s passports
E. Notarial fee (Note: There is an additional fee if registration is done one year after the marriage)
Can you list down these requirements?
As there is quiet a mass of requirements need for marriage contract, it is imperative to see the Embassy in person. This will also save you from the hassle of going back and forth for any missing documentation. Good luck!
