Insurance for Car Istimara Renewal

AussiePaki
By AussiePaki

Hello all, my question is simple one. I bought a 2nd hand Honda City 2008 a year ago. Now the car istimara has expired 3 days ago.

From Qatar Living, I found out that in order to renew my car istimara, I need to do following tasks:

1) Vehicle Inspection (since it is 3 years old car now) at Industrial Area (close to Al Muntazah St) - Charge: QAR 75

2) When car has PASSED inspection, go to car insurance and renew my compulsory insurance (I do not want comprehensive insurance)

3) Go to Traffic Police Dept (Madinat Al Khalifa or Al Mamooura) and renew Istimara by showing them vehicle inspection report and car insurance documents

Please feel free to add if I have missed something in the above process.

My question is how much it costs to get compulsory car insurance? If all insurance companies have different rates or it depends on the car, please give me an approximate cost (for example, QAR 150 - 200) so that I know that insurance companies are not ripping me off for simply getting compulsory insurance.

Also how much Traffic Department at Madinat Al Khalifa charge to renew Istimara for a year?

Appreciate your help!

Ramayana car insurance premium

Then, how much is the Ramayana car insurance premium? Similar to other insurance products, the premium price for Ramayana car insurance refers to the circular letter of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Number 6/SEOJK.05/2017 concerning Determination of Premiums or Contributions to the Property Insurance and Motor Vehicle Insurance Business Lines in 2017.

The circular letter has regulated the amount of car insurance premium rates according to applicable law and depends on the area of the vehicle operating.

Running a business today involves a certain amount of risk: many unforeseen events can occur that present challenges to the modern business owner. Accidents in the workplace, employee illness, mechanical failure of plant and equipment, even lawsuits from disgruntled clients: all of these may have to be dealt with at one time or another.

If you don't received an SMS within a week, you can visit the place (Muroor, where you register your vehicle, just beside it) again and get your new plate. Just go early morning as the queue is long. Just to be sure, let two weeks pass.

Hi all, again thanks for your replies and help.

I was able to get car inspection at Industrial Area. It didnt take as long as I thought and cost me QAR 75. They passed my car in 'Technical' but failed it in 'Legal' due to minor scratches & paint peel-off. The good thing is that they have got traffic police people standing next to inspection centre and they examined the car (for like 30 sec) and passed it.

Then I got my compulsory insurance from QIC for QAR 420. I dont know if I paid too much extra, but didnt really know which one to get and didnt bother researching around.

Then I went to Traffic Police Department at Madinat al Khalifa. The process took barely 5 min and cost me QAR 200. I am guessing the cost also includes for new number plate as well as Istimara renewal. For new number plate, the process (as I understand) is that I have to wait for SMS on my mobile asking me to get new number plate. Then I need to go to License Plates Workshop at Madinat al Khalifa and register my plate and then wait in the queue with my car to get it electrically solded. Can anybody confirm this process or am I missing something?

And if Your Car Fails in Legal Requirements, due to Scratch or Paint Peel off, Just go to the Traffic Dept Representative and get the Report Signed, Usually they Sign it without even Inspecting the Car Physically...

Better to get the Inspection done from Wakra...

@ robinhoodinlove - the cost for the car inspection in Woqod is also QR75? And also, does all Woqod have this services or only the one in Abu Hamour? thanks

If it is a private car you can do the inspection at Wqood near to Abu Hamur round about. It will be more fast.

Also there is facility in Wakrah.

And Insurance, dont give it to agents becoz they will charge you additional amount. You can go direct to insurance companies.

For the new registration card, you can go to any of the traffic departments. Like Air port, Wakrah, etc..
