If two or more tenants share an apartment together. Can they have separate contract papers for the lease or there's a single contract for the lease with one/all tenants's name on it?
@cherukkan: but there must be some sort of concrete information which states that there are two persons living in the apartment. It is done at my country which has the names and signatures on the rent agreement.
lostinsand, I dont think it is legal to have two names in one contract as it will create problems for the landlord. Better you check with someone working with the Real Estate Companies.
Lostinsand - i think in your case, you better speak to your friend or the land lord. in our story we are the 2nd party on the lease, yet we have our own contract given by the 1st party (the indian guy) & this document was enough to produce at visa processing if thats what your aiming at, yet again i'd say speak to your friend or the land lord!
We together are starting a new lease in a few days. For that i needed to know whether the contract will have the names of both of us or the one who makes the payment to the owner.
If you are sharing a villa/apartment which was rented by your friend then the contract will be in his name and I dont think the owner will issue a separate or a sharing contract in your name. I dont think a combined contract is also possible. It is an adjustment between you and your friend. Check with your friend for transferring the contract to your name with the approval of the owner.
Pinkpaw: I actually want the names of both the people to be present on the lease but i am not sure if it is possible in Qatar. Do you have an idea on this?
we live in a villa where there are 5 other families live in. in our situation, one indian has rented out the place from a Qatari & this Indian guy has issued us different contracts with each of our names on it.
in your case i believe that the land lord doesnt matter even if you share your 2BHK with 10 people. if you wish to get separate contracts to the same villa, yet different portions, you may speak to your land lord about it
ok there will be one lease but i was wondering whether the lease will have the names of both the people or only one? We are two coleagues sharing a 2 bhk apartment.
No, there will be one lease for one apartment. I'm assuming you have family visa issues! Only one lease will be able to be registered for each apartment.
