Hi
currently i am in same situation here. Please tell how you resolved the problem?
How much did NISSAN give quotation for you ? With the quotation and with other quotations go to the police and tell the Police again. Tell Police no need for money. You need repair only under your control,
insurance will not accept you to repair your car in the Nissan Workshop because it s more that 1 year old car.
with full insurance or not it will be the same answer from the insurance. but you can discuss the matter with the car owner.
Insurance doesnt come into picture in this case at all. I suggest you go back to the police station but i dont think they would do much.
As far as i know, the police will send your car to the garage which has given the lowest quote and im sure Nissan's quote would be the highest.
I would return to the police station and report the request. I would also express concern about how and where and who would do the repairs and what recourse I would have if they were unsatisfactory.
This happened to a friend in the UAE and the police were cooperative with the victim. It is illegal to operate a vehicle without registration or insurance - even for Qataris
