Thursday has arrived finally and it is time to spend time with family so let’s memories the family members names in Arabic:

Words

Waled = Ab = Father
Waleda = Om = Mother
Ebn = Walad = Son
Ebna = Bint = Daughter
Jad = Grand Father
Jadda = Grand Mother

Quiz
1- How can we say “Do you have kids?” in Arabic? – plz use English letters –
2- What is the English Translation of “ana ghair motazaowage”

It should be meri ek lauti aulad.. means my one and only child (and of course legal heir).

What we hear in Hindi movies / songs is actually a mix of urdu and hindi where urdu is about 60-70%.

You want to learn / hear pure hindi then you should watch mahabharat / ramayan episodes which were aired in the 1980's.

Aolaad is Urdu (you find this is most Hindi movies though). In hindi it is called Santaan.

in the mixed arabic which she might understand u can tell her: "nahna yaby rooh bayt jadeed ba'ed wahed shahr"

and in proper Arabic u can say

"Nahno sanantakel ela bayt jadeed al shahr al qadem"

In hindi also for chidlren we say Awlaad... its so close..still its so difficult to learn..:)

Osama how do you say...

my new maid know only arabic and her own language...

All I can think of is.... jadeed Bayt roo...lol

endaky is used for female

"Hal" is a question tag

"Endak" means "have"

used together means

hal endak = do you have

Aolaad = boys but locally they say ask do u have any "aolaad" and after the positive reply they will ask again "Bent am saby/walad" = "girl or boy"

Osamabawab thank you so much for these daily words. Is there anyway we can have a digest of all these daily words you are posting ..after a while its get difficult to browse the earlier threads.

Would it be possible to post them all under one place instead of a thread everyday? I dont know if its possible I am just thinking out aloud.

Aolaad is a commom word in Hindi/Urdu.
