Visa Expiry Question - very Imp please

By paradisevirus

Question is about the person with following details...

Visa type: WORK VISA One visit
Nationality: Indian
Profession: Secretary

My friends visa will expire next week. The expiry date is mentioned on Qatari ID. His sponsor is out of country and will return after 20 days (he is not reachable for this period). The sponsor has no issue in renewing it but he is not available.
Is it legal to live and continue to work in Qatar after visa expiry. I mean is there any extension period, in such geniune cases. Or shall i suggest him to go out of Qatar till the sponsor returns? What can be done. Please show us the way to live legally in the country.
This is very important if you know please contribute your valuable time by suggesting.

Regards,
PV

If the Sponsor is coming after 20 days there no need of panicking. He can get it renewed as there is some grace period for renewal. If you leave the country then it will be difficult to come back so wait for the Sponsor and renew the RP. Good luck.

As far as I know (but I am really not pretty sure), you have at least 1 month to 3 months grace period to stay in Qatar once your RP or your Qatar ID has been expired. My ID was expired last year, however, it was not processed or renewed immediately because our sponsor was not feeling well that time and needs 2 weeks rest. Meaning, my Qatar ID was renewed 2 weeks after it was expired with no penalties. It would be best if you can also asked your HR Department as well.

as my knowledge no need to go outside but u have to pay penalty every day 200QR, if your company will pay penalty let them stay here, otherwise let him go home country and return back
