BMW accident - experiences?

Dear Forum,

I have a few questions regarding car accidents in Doha. I am driving a BMW X3 and I had two minor accidents. Both not my fault. Once a car was deciding to change lanes without looking and once a car decided not to break at a traffic light. So I have scratches and small dents at the side and at the back. I have the insurance papers. But do you think it is worth to let minor damages fix in Qatar? Or should you just wait until you sell it? Do insurance papers get outdated after one or two years or can you go for a workshop anytime? Do you think that scratches minor the resale price significantly in the case of BMWs or is it anyway expected here in Doha?

Thanks.
Kind regards.

I dont think they do accident tracking like the US / Europe. There you can go on websites and look up a vehicle by the VIN and see any repairs. There is no such tracking system here to my knowledge. That said, just take some pictures if its scratches and get it repaired. If the buyer asks, you can simply show him you had the minor paint defects fixed and they would be pleased with that.

You should have had the repairs paid for by the people who hit you. If you make your own insurance company pay, it will come out of your pocket for the deductible.

Also, as someone has pointed out, if you had police reports and paperwork for the repair authorization and waited too long you will need to do that all over again.

Funny guys... lol

But seriously what is better?

_ Having an accident in the record of your car?

_ Or just having some scratches, which you can sell as minor incidents when you want to sell the car?

_ Maybe the best is to get some cash from the guy and live with less money when you sell?

where do you see M3?

They clearly mention it is X3. Letters X and M happen to be far from each other. So the only explanation to this error is your stupidity.

thx

Do you have insurance papers or Police Repair Permit? These permits expire in 15 days and you have to take a new one. Not sure what is insurance paper that you have got.
