Qtel Package

Hey all. I need some internet and it must be from QTEL (not sure if there is any other!)

Here is what I would like:

1. Consistency .
2. Decent speeds.
3. No download limit.
4. Some TV as well - doesn't have to be anything special. I am from the UK so anything English as I don't really follow any shows but nice to have it there so only has to be a basic package really.

Could anyone recommend a package that they have experience of please.

Thanks.

The concept of a turbo hamster is brilliant. I am now even picturing the crash helmet it may wear.

Anyways, I am not even sure that I am going to get a mobile. Can't doing with them. But yeah, I see where you are coming from. I guess it is the same all over the world. After all, every village has its idiot.

But trust me dash201 if you think BT is bad wait until you come to Qatar and experience Qtel's "customer service" as they said for the world cup expect amazing!

For example I signed up for a monthly mobile phone contract and they gave me someone else's old number so I had loads of people I didn't know phoning me at all times in the night. And to top it all off the guy had signed up for lots of stupid sms services so I received around 20 sms from these a day.

I went into Qtel to get them to cancel the sms services. The guy told me that they couldn't and I had to do it myself directly with the companies, which was a bit hard seeing as I cant read Arabic. I then asked them to change my number, which I was told I couldn't as that would need a new 12 month contract :-0

I got the first months bill and it was for around 2500qr coz of all these stupid sms services (which I was told I wouldn't have to pay for by the way)

In the end they wanted me to pay the 2500qr plus the 12months contract fees and a cancelation fee to get a new number.

Not sure if that was sarcasm or not there stealth...I have had bad experiences with my current provider but once you are locked in there, there is not a lot you can do. At one point, they were blocking live streaming...worked when I piggy backed on a neighbours internet but not with them...tried a macbook and desktop pc...

So yeah, we do have problems with them here. I believe if you pay for something, you should get what you pay for.

if you really want English TV you can also watch bbc iplayer online just get a Uk proxy

copy that link

http://www.google.co.uk/aclk?sa=l&ai=Ce8ieQ7nsT9-eIpGorAfC76iLDK2buvcBnYTs8hrByrSZCwgAEAEg2pTQBigDUNmnl7T6_____wFguwaYAdPyB6ABq5jw2wPIAQGqBBZP0PmbJ3KI52bqSryXR6y0GNrebGNwgAWQTg&sig=AOD64_2W82qbvf6h48YkJCWdpWKlnYy4vA&ved=0CFwQ0Qw&adurl=http://www.ukproxy.tv&rct=j&frm=1&q=uk+proxy

and then you can get a better speed internet without muzic service

to be honest i always recommend the customer to go for muzic triple play service to save a bit of money

because you don't pay for installation and you get two month free so you only paying for 10 month ,

even if you would like to get the 2mps speed , it's better if you go for 1mps then upgrade in the third month . the real bad things about muzic it's sometimes the channels freeze , and the internet speed gets really slow specially if you turn on the tv while using the internet . please do not hesitate to ask any question

Sorry zaheer, not rude at all. I was asking opinions and experience. No laziness involved. If the guy does not want to add information like you have then why bother?

Good call on the facebook zaheer. thanks.

LOL @dash201 ..did any1 told u before ..u r very rude @

silverstar

frankly I don't know much about the price. Price and packages you can ask qtel on their facebook page.

https://www.facebook.com/QtelQatar - (they will reply :) )

2 Mb Internet is good and its the maximum u can get with Mozaic. Service it good most of the time.. but expect problems specially after installation.

If fiber optics is available in your area which you can check on qtel's website go for fiber.

silverstar, my dear idiot, I was asking people's opinions. And if I wrote that "I guess the 2mb Moziac would do it," does that not suggest I have visited the site?

So how many companies do you know that write on their own website that they having problems with their own service? I can't think of any companies like that. So what is the next logical thing to do? Ask people for their experiences. So thank you for wasting your time and answering so incompetently.

Landless, I am not in Qatar yet but I have been asked to think about this in preparation. I am in Qatar for a minimum of 2 years. Someone else will be applying for it on my behalf. As I said, I do not watch a great deal of TV but do like to from time to time so that is not as important. As long as it is a reasonable speed without caps, I am happy.

Thank you landless for your kind help.

dear sir . if you want an english TV with unlimited internet you're only choice is to go with muzic triple play service , landline ,Cable Tv , and Internet

it's one year contract no cancellation before one year or changing ownership

the installation will be free and you will get two month free with 1 mps internet and one month free for 2 mps

for 1 mps speed you will pay 250

for 2 mps speed you will pay 350

first two month you get 160 channel available

after two month you get only 50 channel for asian package and 60 channel for arabian package you have to chose one of the two packages

any additional package you will pay extra

the Requirements we provide to apply for Muzic Servise :

-the electrcity number .

-nearest landline number .

just to inform you that muzic service isn't feasible in all areas giving us the nearest landline number and electricty number will help us to check the feasibility and let you know if you can get the service .. and if you already got the fibre optic you should only apply in Qtel Lagoona ( west bay area Zec Zec Towers )

packegs prices :

Aljazera Plus :35 Qr Per month ( 10 Channels )

Abu Dahabi Sports : 35 QR per Month ( 9 channels )

and there's too many packags

Please Contact me Via PM if you need any Question

thanks

Many a times I feel that people ask very silly and stupid questions here......If a person can ask a question here, it means he is literate and computer savvy and knows what Internet is.......so my dear friend......why you are asking this stupid question here rather and visiting the Qtel website and look what u need.......don't be too lazy for a thing which u personally need.....

i suggest prime asia is best if you go for mozaic.

Thanks...still can't decide.

I guess the 2mb with Mozaic should cover it!

Only Qtel have internet so far. Check their website to see what you are looking for. I think that they have a bundle package with Mozaic TV. If you want unlimited DSL, u need to have a landline. So please check their website; http://www.qtel.qa/en/home_broadband

aafi, what is that supposed to mean?

Lincoln, have you ever met British Telecom? Same thing there.

I can give you another example: an A/C stopped working. The "technician" said the compressors are not made to work at temperatures over 39 degrees. You see, that's Qatar.

You get what you pay for, and even if you pay, you don't always get what you paid for. The service-infrastructure in Qatar is just beginning to evolve.
