Samsung’s new Galaxy S III mobile explodes in car
The official mobile of the Olympic Games is under investigation by Samsung after one of its new Galaxy S III smartphones apparently exploded on a car’s dashboard. A Dublin man was driving with the £550 phone mounted in a holder when he claims it began to smoulder. He said: “White flame, sparks and a bang came out of the phone. I pulled in to look at my phone, (which was) burned from the inside out. Burned through the plastic and melted my case to my phone. That could have burned the side of my face or through my pocket and my leg, or set fire to my bed. .” A Samsung spokesman said: “Samsung is aware of this issue. Once investigation is complete, we will be able to provide details.”
