law for repatriation? Need advice,,,

What’s the law for repatriation? I have been working with a construction company in Doha for more than 6 years. I just came recently from vacation dated 23 June 2012 and have submitted my resignation to the company dated 24 June 2012. My Contract is Indefinite Period. The company refuses to provide air ticket for my final travel even though it is clearly stated on my contract that I’m entitled to the benefit .
Will the company provide me my air ticket or I have to buy myself?
There are two things to consider: 1. The Labor Law. 2. The ignorance of companies to honor the law. Unfortunately we live in a pretty "lawless" country in a sense that nobody cares about the laws.
i ve also been going through the same case. the ticket availed is always for every year that an employee works , tickets and annual leaves are not granted in advance. also the law says upon termination of contract i.e from either the employer side or employee side the employer has to bear the cost of repatriation of employee.
there is also a sub clause with relation to ticket availed.
Vacation travel tickets are provided for every completed year of employment. If you have already availed a ticket for the year to be completed, the employer can ask you to refund the ticket.
I think in your case, he is just asking you to pay for your own tickets back home.
It is clear in the Qatar Labor Law then when employment ends for whatever reason the Sponsor has to send the person back to their home country and the cost is theirs. Anything else is breaking the law.
you will need to buy your ticket......
if you just came from vacation and resigned, then you had to buy your own ticket. you should have resigned before you went for vacation, that time they will provide you your one way air fare. Now you need to stay for a month through your salary, you can buy own ticket.
