And a site that provided the health and safety inspection of restaurants and groceries--i.e. who is closed and why.

Something with accurate information on road closures and construction.

well... IF you have the money and the know-how (that includes web-developing and programming in Java, MySQL and the rest of things - it's best if you bring as less people in on the business as possible) you could make a warehouse filled with electronics (PC/TV/Phone/Blenders/Toasters and what-not...) and a website to interface with your inventory and allow people to buy them.... also some refurbishing service would be nice... and profitable on the long run...

GOOD LUCK!

@Motiv8er YES!!! that would be awesome... instead of paying even 60QR on taxi (if you can find one), wasting your time in a supermarket looking for something without knowing if they have it, crowds and long lines, it would be nice to sit at home and order...

However.. there is a HUGE downside: people will get lazy... very lazy

IF you want to start a website you might as well just make it a business so you can profit from it.

Things on high demand:

- electronics of any kind

- groceries (low price, bundle offers)

It would be nice to have a website from a shop that deals in tech stuff (Desktop components, laptops, gaming equipment, phones, routers - high demand since QTel has no idea of what routers to use, TV's, connectivity items - Bluetooth headphones, mouse, even remote control for PC which i am looking for, software, home entertainment systems, personalized service - client comes in and wants something nice so it would be your task to help him decide) at great prices and great bundle offers.

That however requires a great investment ... so... probably not going to happen.

A Qatar guide (full one.. all kinds of info) with absolutely everything you can find in Qatar in any area including all domains (hospitals, private clinics, restaurants, parks, events).

You will have a problem with the hosting... so be careful.

Good luck and let us know what you decide... all i can say is that it would be wise to monetize your website.
