I am looking to book Friday Brunch for a special family celebration. We have just arrived in Doha and used to the fabulous Dubai 'Bubbly Brunches'. Can anybody recommend a good Doha Brunch.
Not sure what happened to the rest of my answer..... it was considerably longer than that! But the long and short of it was I'd recommend the Ritz-Carlton - impressive selection and quality, nice airy dining room, gardens to explore. Only thing there is that it's limited to bubbly for the inclusive booze.
I've been to a fair selection here so will offer my thoughts.... I haven't been to any in Dubai but friends who previously lived there say the Doha brunches aren't quite as full-on party style as DXB. The ones I've been to here vary a bit in terms of selection on offer. Some only include bubbly for the alcohol while others include beers and wines too. The Marriott brunch has the widest selection of food types. I've always enjoyed it but have heard comments from others that the food quality has declined recently. I hadn't noticed that though. Another thing in the Marriott's favour is that you can get house wine and beer as well as bubbly included in the price, so if you've had enough fizz you can switch. The Sheraton also offers a range of drinks, but the food selection is smaller and you get cheesy live lounge music. It's one of the cheaper ones though and awesome views from the top floor restaurant. The Hyatt (at the Grill) is a bit more up-market and this is reflected in the price. Beer, wine and bubbly there too, plus the food is excellent quality. The savoury stuff is quite a limited selection but the Hyatt has the best desserts IMHO. The Movenpick (the one near MIA, not the one in West Bay) is also worth a look. Selection is reasonable. Can't remember the selection of drinks. If you have kids the Movenpick is great as they have a separate room, including kids brunch and play area, for them. My personal two favourites are the W and the Ritz-Carlton. The W has a good selection of nice quality food (the sushi is excellent) and has a good atmosphere with a live jazz band. The Ritz-Carlton has an impressive selection of good quality food. I really like their dining room, it's really spacious and airy with plenty of natural light. The Ritz have a kids area with face-painting and kid-specific food, plus it's easy to let the kids have a run around in the gardens right outside the restaurant. Only thing with the W and the Ritz though is that it's bubbly only for the inclusive booze.
