Dubai Police van in Kerala...lol

A former expatriate who modified his Honda Accord to resemble a Dubai Police car in Kerala wanted to make it attractive for Eid celebrations, says one of his friends.

Abdul Jabir, who used to work in Dubai, and four friends aged between 25 and 30 were arrested on Sunday night.

They have been charged by Kasaragod Police for driving the car without a valid licence, speeding and modifying the vehicle without permits.

Police said the five were also charged with "intent to cause riots", out of concern that the car, driven by Mr Jabir, could have disrupted peace in the district, which has been the scene of clashes between Hindus and Muslims. Police have confiscated the car.

Quite innovative to introduce / show how a Dubai Police car looks like in Kerala, cos many would not have seen it, right?

Great idea but unwise execution of it ... background info about the clashes between Hindus and Muslims would have tempered this idea with some discernment of the possible consequences.

like this crop up from the jealousy of the officials.

Would you believe I was stopped [ while on vacation in India .. coincidently from Dubai ] for what was a 'paint strip' of one inch wide and about 5 inches in length in a particular colour of a paint on my 'Bajaj Chetak' scooter but a long long time ago in 1991 or 1992 ..
