Corner shop's first ever walk-in customer

DOHA: Residents of the upmarket West Bay Lagoon area were left stunned last night after a man was seen exiting his vehicle and entering a local corner shop on foot.

The athletic shopper, who has requested to remain anonymous for fear of reprisals, has since claimed he was feeling “unwell” at the time and that the experience has left him “traumatised”.

Dr Rehan Angina of the World Health Organisation this morning warned against copycats, claiming that many residents of Qatari didn’t have the requisite stamina to withstand the eight seconds of heat between car and shop door, and that picking items of the shelves was, in itself, “an extremely stressful process and not for the weak hearted”.

“Cars park opposite the store, honk their horn and we go outside to take their orders,” said Arjit Fairy-Liquid, manager of Happy Snack Trading where the incident took place.

“That’s how it works and that’s how it has worked for years. I can now identify at least 20 types of Landcruiser from the horn alone.”

The move follows a spate of similar incidents across the GCC. Last month a shopper in Dubai was hospitalised for a week after walking 50 metres to the supermarket rather than utilising the store’s delivery service.

Just saw a guy honk in front of a barber shop. The barber came out and gave him a haircut right in his car. Everything is back to normal in Qatar yo.

hahahahaha this is so funny I had heard that people dont exercise much there and about the obesity rate. So its definitely true sounds like a good business plan. All jokes aside I dont think the situation is being taken seriously enough. if you keep eating particularly junk and process(junk) food with no exercise then of course your at a massive risk of death. Also why pass this on to your kids and then reducing their life on this planet. We cant let our kids die young, so time to do something about it. Remember the kids of today are tomorrows adults lets get them to tomorrow. Believe and you can Achieve

This is terrible. It seems like an epidemic. Next we'll be seeing women actually being made to walk to the mall entrance from the car park, rather than being dropped off right opposite and sometimes even inside the entrance.
