Annual leave and Eid Al Adha Holidays Confusion
Hi! all,
I'm planing to take my very 1st annual leave after completing 1yr in Qatar. So, I am planing to get my annual leaves in October.
I found out that they count the 21 days as calendar days (consecutive days). I am aiming to include the Eid Al Adha holidays 25,26 & 27.
If I will take my leaves on Saturday the 6th of October 2012 to 24th of Wednesday, I will be able to report to work on 28th October only after 3days Eid Al Adha holidays.
But my confusion is whether those Eid holidays will also be counted as calender days which the total holidays will become 22 days
or will it be considered as 19 days annual leave + 3 public holidays?
Please advice me on this issue. Because our HR manager is on vacation and the assistants have different ideas.
Thank you
Thank you very much Anna and Tico,
My colleagues' opinions are also it will be counted as anna said. No use of sending emails to our HRM, he is not a helpful person.
Good idea Tico. I am also having the same idea in my mind. Because, I have to go to 2 destinations during my holidays 1st to my home country Sri Lanka and second to Dubai to see my dad.
I am currently thinking of coming about 2 days prior to eid holidays and visit dubai during the eid holidays. Then it will not affect my annual leaves by any means.
I submitted my leave application form like that. The next problem is will they grant me the exit permit to Dubai during eid holidays or not.
my advice, come one day before the eid, this way the eid will not count from your annual leave, hahaha sneeky :)
depends on your company procedure when it comes to leave(s) if its calendar days then the 3 days holiday will be counted on your leave (in our company its the same- calendar days not working days- unfair right?) but its the company policy so we cant do anything about that....
first time i hear about this, annual leaves should be only working days, not calendar days, but if your company is on calendar days then you need to make your holiday request form until before the eid, this way the eid will not count, what about sending an email to the HR manager? have a nice leave anyway :)
